High School...sigh*

First quarter ends soon, so there are many projects due and tests to study for. After studying so much last night, I forgot to Moodle and blog. I felt that the Moodle topic was fairly easy. It took me about 5 minutes to go through the whole thing. I felt that Vera's essay was very well organized. I never wrote essays in that manner. It opened my eyes to use steps one, two, and three for my future essays.

What time?

Yestarday was another online class, and I noticed that not everyone goes on at the normal class time-I know I don't- and so, we cannot have a proper discussion online, but this does not mean that I dislike the fact that we don't have to worry about being tardy on moodle days. I guess it is just comment and your present, or silence means your absent. So speak or beware!
Also, good luck on the upcomming test- or is it a quiz? I personally cannot tell the difference between the two.

Really late

I just finished with the story of Vera and I find it resourceful to our daily writing assignment. I enjoy meeting on the moodle but I missed our teacher dearly. I was so late do to my work because my internet acting up so I have to go to the cafe where I can use the computer.

Online session

Today was our usual online session. We had to go over the writing process worksheet and analyze Vera's essay to see if it was good or not. We also had to write about the writing process worksheet and if it is resourceful to us. I think the writing process worksheet is very resourceful because it helps us organize our information therefore making our paper really good.
Today we met in the moodle room and had to discuss the impact the Writing Process Worksheet has on the overall outcome of the essay. In my opinion, I think the worksheet should be used by every student so that they can create an organized essay just like Vera did. Although it may seem like a long process, in the end it will be worth it. We had to read an Vera's essay which made me realize how important it is to follow every step in the writing process. It made me want to use the worksheet whenever I have a writing assignment so I will be confident with my end result. I'm excited to see you all on Monday and good luck studying.

Moodle Room

So we had our online class today. I just finished writing my post up in the moodle room. It was about the Writing Process Worksheet. We had to discuss on what we think about Vera's essay and explain why we think the Writing Process Worksheet is resourceful. That was about it. Now I have to study for our test on Monday! Good Luck to everyone!

moodle session

Today's moodle session was about the writing process worksheet. It wanted us to discuss how the writing process worksheet is resourceful. It actually is very resourceful at least it is to me. This helps me organize my work. It prevents me from making my work look so sloppy.

:(

Because of my absence this monday, I apologize to Dr. Rivera. I just hope that she finds in her heart to forgive me. To my classmates, I hope you missed me because i missed you to.

Moodle Time!

Okay, today is moodle time again, and I am doing this blog in the library. I usually stay here in the library to relax, and ease my mind. My day today is fine, because it is not raining. The weather is fair, and sunny outside. Eventhough it's hot outside, I'm still freezing here, and my body temperature won't go down. Ugh, I sometimes hate this freezing feeling. Well, I am going to visit my moodle, and answer the question Dr. Rivera posted. I didn't bring my book with me, so I have to do it at home. Well, hopefully I won't forget! Until next time, ciao!

Paragraphs

Today we discussed about Paragraph Defined which are; Introductory, Develpmental, Transitional, and Concluding. We also discussed about the topic sentence support and the concluding sentence. This was very good information for me so that I can understand more about paragraphs. Because this is really my weakness which is why I am in En100.
There are many things that describe a paragraph. There are four different kinds of paragraphs; introductory, developmental, transitional, concluding. Introductory indicates the main idea called the thesis. Developmental expands on the topic. Transitional directs the reader from one part of the essay to the other. Concluding is the final comments on the topic. Today was a very productive day my time was spent wisely.

september 27

Today we discussed the parts of a paragraph. Which was the topic sentence, the support, and the concluding sentece. After discussing the parts of the paragraph we did 2 of the exercise where we had to determine if the paragraph was the same as paragraph A or B. After all the discussion DR. Rivera talked about our test which is on Monday. I really hope I pass.

Today's Class Meeting

We red and discussed "Paragraph Defined" on Chapter 5. We even did the exercises, and the Pattern A and Pattern B are kind of tricky. But, I'm learning about those patterns a little. There is always a clue, and is so easy to remember! Next class meeting is our 1st test. Oh my, I need to study and go over the topics that I don't understand. Hopefully, I won't forget studying for the test. But I don't think I might forget to study beacuse, I had it posted on my reminder sheet. Have a nice day everyone!

Sept 27, 2010

Today in class we discussed the different types of paragraphs in a sentence. The different types of paragraphs are the introductory, developmental, transitional, and concluding paragraphs. We also learned the different patterns of essay writing. Then we did exercises on analyzing paragraphs.

Get ready for the 1st test..

I am kind of nervous about the test, but I try my best on this one. Today we went over the chapter 4 some of the questions that will be applied on the test. The best part is that Dr. Rivera is very helpful with the hind of what's going to be on the test. There is going to be an extra credit points that will be happening in the upcoming month and I am looking forward to one of these days, because it will really help my bad grades.

Another Day

Today was just another day. I learned about writing a paragraph. The information I learned was very useful to me. I have a lot of trouble writing essays, let alone paragraphs. That is why I am in EN100. But hey, only cool people are in EN100. Dr. Rivera told us of our first test next Monday. I'm scared, but I'm gonna study.

September 27, 2010

Today we met in the computer lab. We read about paragraphs, and we learned about four types: introductory, developmental, transitional, and concluding. Then we learned about two types of patterns of paragraph structure Pattern A and Pattern B. Pattern A is the paragraph with no concluding sentence and Paragraph B is the paragraph with a concluding sentence. Then we did an exercise and it was simple. Dr. Rivera then told us about our test, and what we should study for. After she gave us help for the test, we were told to go on the blog. We have moodle for Wednesday, and next Monday is our test. Good luck to everyone next Monday!

Just Another Class Day

Today's class went by pretty quick. Thank god because my headache is killing me. Chapter 5 was about Writing the Paragraph and it discussed about the Paragraph being defined and also the 2 differnet patterns of a paragraph. I finally realized that we have a test next week Monday and I hope I come prepared.

4 hours a day.

During class I read about basic paragraph patterns. We also talked about the writing process. We talked about the test we are having next week and Dr.Rivera said that we should dedicate 4 hours a day and we wont have to worry about the test.

Hmmm...

There are four different kinds of paragraphs - Introductory, Development, Transitional, Concluding. That is what we went over in class today. Also, analyzing a paragraph and deciding whether it belongs to Pattern A or Pattern B. That is also what we had went over today. We have a test next Monday and I think we should all study very well for it. It should be pretty interesting and all. We should all get together at Mcdonalds and study as a whole.

Tiring Day

So today for some reason, I've been feeling really tired. I don't even know why. I feel like I just want to go sleep. I really hated that I have to be in school until 5:20 today. I kind of wish we had our online class today. I could be a home taking a nap right now. But, I'm here so I have to deal with it. Anyways for class we went over the diffent types of paragraph patterns. Then Dr. Rivera reviewed us a little bit for our upcoming test on Monday. After reviewing we had to do our blog and that was about it for class.
Today we discussed Writing the Paragraph which includes four different kinds of pararaphs: Introductory, Developmental, Transitional, and Concluding. There are two effective patterns, A and B. Pattern A states the controlling idea, the topic sentence, and develops it; Pattern B adds a concluding sentence folowing the development. We had a review of what is going to be on our test on October 4th. I am glad that we had a review of the material so that I would not be surprised of what is on the test.
Today we learned that we were to be expecting a test on October 4, 2010. We also learned that there are four different kinds of paragraphs each one having a different purpose: the introductory, developmental, transitional, and the concluding. There are also two basic paragraph patterns: pattern A which states the controlling idea, the topic sentence, and develops it while pattern B adds a concluding sentence following the development. Towards the end of the class, we did a quick review of test one's coverage which I have to study because I couldn't answer the questions asked. Overall, today was a good day. See you all on moodle!

Good Luck

We were just told a little about the test we are going to take next week. It will contain multiple choice questions, short answer essays, and true or false questions. They will be about C.O.P.S., the stages of writing, outlines, and everything else that we learned in our wonderful EN 100 class. So, good luck to everyone, and I hope Professor Rivera can say, "You all passed with flying colors."

Stop it with your lower case I's! :)

I love Mondays. Today we did a quick review on what is going to be on the test. I will be up late for the next couple days studying. We also learned about the different types of paragraph patterns. I felt that the exercises today were fairly easy.
Today was so exhausting. I felt like I was about to fall asleep. Well, we went over the writing process again and we also did a couple of excercises distinguishing patter A and pattern B. The difference is that pattern B has a concluding sentence and pattern A doesn't, obviously. I can't wait to go home and rest! :)

Sept. 27, 2010

Today's class was regarding paragraph patterns. According to Paragraphs and Essays (pg. 73) there are two types of patterns in a paragraph. Pattern A has a topic sentence then is filled with support. Topic B has a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and ends with a conclusive sentence.
We also reviewed for our first test on Monday. Our test is going to cover chapters one through four. I am confident that I will pass this test. I am going to work for an A.

Paragraph Patterns

Today we learned about paragraphs and there are four types of paragraphs. One is introductory, developmental, transitional, and concluding. And also we learned about patterns of a paragraph, Pattern A and Pattern B. Pattern A tells states the controlling idea, topic sentence, and develops it. And Pattern B is like Pattern A and it includes a concluding sentence following the development.

Trying my very best

I am remembering the first three paragraphs for my other class and I wish to remember everything by tomarrow. I was able to study it the whole weekend because I don't want to fail my Guam History class. For our class with Dr. Rivera I read the chapter all over again and trying to put some sense in my head before coming to class.

Moodle..

Our assignment for our moddle session was to write about the third stage which is editing. Editing, is a very important stage because it's basically proof reading what you are writing about. It's very important that you edit and correct the errors that you have made.

Who doesn't like it when someone else points out your mistakes?

No one really likes having their mistakes pointed out, but editing is one way of doing it that is necessary. This is because, if no one tells you that you forgot to capitalize or something, then your grade will go down, and no one wants their grades to go down. So, don't be afraid to have someone point out your mistakes- it just may help you.

Horrible week.

I have never look like a fool in my entire life until yesterday in my Guam history class, our teacher makes us remember the Hurao speech. It's a one page long speech and he expect us to remember the whole speech, remember English is just my second language I can not remember the whole thing in one day or two. When it comes to my turned to stand up and read it to the class, I just got blank out and forgot everything. I will do it again next week Tuesday and I wish that I can remember it this time.

Day Late Dollar Short

This is the second time I did a late blog! I hope this still counts! The other day, I did some reading and found out the essences of editing. After reading, I went to the Moodle room and posted my reflection. I was so centered on my high school work that I forgot to post a blog. I hope late blogs are still full credit!:)

Totally forgot!

Well, I totally forgot to blog yesterday. BUT... I did my moodle. So it's a good thing I remembered that. I really don't know how I forgot to blog. I only remembered just now while I was on Facebook. Anyways this is why I'm writing my blog right now. Yesterday we had our online class again. Our assignment was to discuss the importance of editting and what it involves. That was pretty much it.

moodle

Yesturday's moodle session we had to write about editing. When editing someones paper your usually looking for errors such as capitalization, punctuation, omissions, and spelling errors. For me editing really helps me to become a better writer.

Phewwwwww!!!!

Today in my Intro to Teaching class I presented in front of the whole class and I was totally nervous. It was given out since last week the assignment. It was to grab an article from the newspaper and it had to be about anything that deals with education. So when I took it I was worried that I wouldn't understand the subject, or let alone I couldn't speak in front of the whole class. So I worked on it really hard on the day before with my mom, and everything went smooth. So when was going to present today I first said a simple prayer to God to help me. So He did and I praise Him for that. I just went up there and just did my thing without worrying, even though I was nervous God controlled me and He did it for me. Thank You God!

moodle

For the moodle session we had to talk about what is editing. I explain that editing is changing anything to make the paper better or making any other corrections. When you are editing you may be changing words, grammer, punctuation, captilization, or you make be addding more. This is very important because it corrects the mistakes we didnt seee when doing our first rough draft.

Opps

After my Sociology Exam, I realized that I forgot to do the assignment on Moodle. Opps! I don't know what my grade would be but I hope it still counts for something. Maybe I should have done it before I started studying for my Sociology Exam. Oh well.. Aside from that, I hope I did well on that exam. Grades will be out on Tuesday so all that's left to do is wait and see. Now that the exam is done and over with, I have more time to catch up on my math assignments.
The online question posed a topic concerning editing. Editing is a critical element in effective essay writing. Today I learned tips that will help my writing along with my editing.

Moodle

Today is I think the third time were on Moodle? Correct me if I'm wrong. Well, anyway, today is a very stressful day. I have so much things to do and make - up. And good thing I was able to do some of it. Right now, I'm feeling tired and exhausted. I feel like I'm sick and I can't think clearly. Whenever I do so, nothing comes out of my mind. I do not know if my sleeping pattern made me feel like it, or what? *sigh.
Well last time, we discussed about Editing- the final stage of writing process. Well, were lucky that we have great editors in the world!
Anyway, I'll re-blog next time and see you guys again next class. Ciao!
Today was so exhausting, well for me anyways. I'm glad we met in the moodle room. I had an extra hour of sleep. Well we discussed about editing and why it is important. And that's about it. I look forward to our next class session! Adios!
We had another moodle session and we were asked what editing involves and why it is important. We all make mistakes when we are writing an essay and that is why it is always best to go over your work and correct all the mistakes. Editing is an important part in the writing process and you should not be lazy to correct your mistakes.

Moodle Session

Today's class was enjoyable. It was very interesting. We had to describe "editing" and elaborate its significance. I gave my own definition of the term. "Editing" actually reminded me of the weekly essays I was required to do in A.P. U.S. History. In that class, we had to read, write an essay, have it edited, revise it and turn it in. It was so little time and we were getting used the "editing" part. After that year, I understood the importance of editing.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Today was our third meeting in moodle. For the first time, I really think I have the hang of it. What I like about moodle is that you can sign on at anytime to post your reply, giving me free time to do other assignments. Today we wrote about editing which is the last stage in the writing process. It's composed of looking over your work so that your piece will be ready to turn in. Although the writing process may seem long, I learned that by the time your paper is ready to be submitted it will be the best it could be. Although I had a headache today, I'm glad we met on moodle so I was able to rest and recover for my 5:30 class. See you all on Monday!

Stay home.

I stayed home for the past few days because I had the flu and I don't want to spread it to all of you. I was so worried for missing class but I really don't have a choice. Well our Moodle was fun, it gives me the opportunity to learned the stage three of the writing process. Editing is very important if there is no editing in the writing process then our work will always be waisted because we don't have a chance to double check our writing before submitting it.

Online Class Session: Editing

Today class was online and we had to read about editing. We had to write about editing on our class moodle session. Editing is an important part of the writing process because it allows us to go back and correct our mistakes to improve our papers.

Stage Three

Today we learned stage three of the writing process. In this process, we learn how to revise, edit, and have the final draft. In this process, our essay should follow the acronym "C.L.U.E.S.S." By this time, our essay should have coherence, language, unity, emphasis, support, and sentences. Otherwise, you would have a poorly written essay. It was fun. I also learned that no matter where you are at, it would always be a democracy. Plus, my partner was bright today. 8D

yellow means speed up

Durring class we read a section that talked about what someone would do if they were a cop, and it brought up several issues that that person faces when on the road. So, I started thinking about the things that people on Guam do, that are not exactly traffic friendly. These things can include not following the speed limit, with people going from forty to over sixty miles an hour, and the supposed stop that some people do where they slow down, look left and right, then just press on their gas as they go past the stop sign. Then there are the people who see a yellow light, and speed up so that they do not have to stop. There are these thing, and others, that happen on Guam, that are not necessarily traffic friendly.
(Yellow does not mean speed up, but slow down.)

My car broke down! :(

Today I went home after my 11:00 class and my car broke down. Gosh what a day I had to tell my daddy to come and pick me up in agana and they had to tow it. Well that the reason why I didn't attend class today so I will see you guys next class meeting..

september 20

Today in class was kind of warm. Today I thought we were gonna end class due to the lack of students but the rest of the students showed up.  We learned about stage 3 today which is about writing, revising, and editing. We had to do an exercise where we had to do an essay. Then some of the students were able to share what they wrote. Then we disscussed more about stage 3.
Today class started with us reading in our book. We had an exercise where we took our freewriting assignment from last class and wrote a draft for a more formal essay.I shared my draft with the class. My draft was about why people do drugs and how it affects our body. After sharing my draft with the class we went back to reading the book. The book showed us different ways to help us when we are revising our essays. The acronym is CLUESS. The guide is: Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, support, and sentences. See you guys on our moddle sesh.

Simple Day

Class today went by smooth. The computer lab was not as cold but we made it through the class. I thought we would have left early.. We learned about Stage 3 Writing Process and it's the basics about writing. Of course you would have to write, revise and edit before your rough draft becomes your final draft. We learned a new acronym which was; C.L.U.E.S.S and it stands for Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Sentences, and Support. After reviewing notes we got to write our rough draft into a final draft then of course we had to share. Then we went over the rest of the section and we're done!

Today's Class Meeting

Today's class is full of fun!  A classmate of ours, made us laugh again. He's so funny! Anyway, we discussed about Stage 3: Writing/Editing/Revising. Dr. Rivera made us read the the book. We went over our last essay, and my row made it, atleast. Thanks to Rio the funny guy! Peace.
Until next time, ciao!

Stage 3

Today, we went over Stage 3 which is writing, revising, and editing. We turned our freewriting essay into a rough draft of a formal essay. It made me understand more about writing and how people use the language. It showed me how the tone of ones voice can change the way the listener takes in the persons statements. Revision is important because it includes checking for organization, content, and language effectiveness.

Haters gon Hate, but I love Ton's hair!

Todays class was very educational. We learned a lot of new things that can help us better understand how to write. Writing is very important in life. It can help you in a variety of ways. Another thing to blog about is Anthony Quitigua's hair. It is so awesome and sexy. He has this rugged look but he pulls it off so well. I am definitely jealous of his hair and I am intentionaly growing out my hair to look more like him.

Class in computer lab (;

Today was an okay day for me. It's a Monday, so I wasn't all that excited to go to school, another week of school. Anyways, for class we meet in the computer lab again. We went over Stage 3, which is on writing, revising, editting. We did a lot of reading. I read twice today! But it's okay, the more reading the better. Besides reading we wrote a rough draft on the assignment we had before. Then we had people share theirs. After reading we just went on our blog again and started blogging until it was time to go.

Stage Three

Today in EN 100, we discussed many different things to help us better our writing. We discussed about coherence, language, unity, emphasis, support, and sentences. We had a very productive day in class and we read the lesson and we also started writing our rough drafts. It is also very hot in this room today. Hopefully next class won't be so hot.

CLUESS

Check it out! Today in class we learned about this cool new ancronym called CLUESS. It stands for: Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Support, and Sentences.
We also learned about what they mean and what it stand for. We also had have one person in each row talk about his/her rough draft. The rough draft is the revised version of our freewrite from earlier in the month.
Then to end the class we had to write on our blog and comment on each others blog. You might think this is pretty boring, but it's pretty aight!

Today was a fairytale.

Today was a fairytale. SHE wore a blouse. I wore a dark gray t-shirt. I'm so into her, and I must confess. Today was a fairytale. I spent my long break talking to a beautiful girl that I have been noticing. She is a very interesting girl, and is easy to talk to. She walked me to class when the break was over because her class was farther than mine. I had butterflies. I walked into the computer lab happy. The class was instructed to write rough drafts with references from earlier free writing assignment. The class then learned about "CLUESS". I must say that all these lessons really help me with writing essays.
Today was alright. We met in the computer lab, again. Anyways, we went over stage three of the writing proccess. We talked about the writing, revising, and editing. Honestly, we did a lot of reading today. The highlight of class for me was when we went over the "tones". It was funny. I think Maria Q. did a good job. She had an applause for being overbearing. Well now, we're blogging! Adios mi amigos.
The moodle assignment really helped and provided useful information. Listing provides a sense of sequence which can be very useful. Clustering shows the relationship of certain ideas. Outlining can help you plan the structure of something you write and also reveals the structure of something you read. I will surely use these procedures to help better my writing.
Another class in the computer lab, we had a discussion about stage 3 of the writing process which deals with writing, revising, and editing. Revision is used for checking organization, content, and language effectiveness. Editing is used as a final method in correcting your essay. We learned about the acronym CLUESS. It stood for Coherence, Language, Unity, Emphasis, Support, and Sentences. These are all essential in forming a good essay. We also had others read senteces using different tones and yet again, Rai was hilarious. Maria also read the overbearing tone well. Overall, today's class went well and I will remember to use these methods to write my essay.
Today was simply an ordinary day. We learned information about stage three in the writing process which consists of writing, revising, and editing. We learned about revision which is checking for organization, editing which is correcting mistakes, coherence which is ordering your ideas, language whcih is composed of usage, tone, and dicition, unity which is staying on topic, emphasis which helps the reader focus on their topic, support which fulfills function, and sentences which consists of the sentences pattern and structure. All eight features of creating good writing can be summed up in the acronym CLUESS.

September 20, 2010

Class was held in the computer lab today. It's hot again, and it's not really comfortable. I just think it's better than the classroom because we're not cramped in one little room, while in the computer lab, we have a lot of space. Today we talked about Stage 3 of the Writing Process Worksheet and we came across an exercise related to our free writing exercise. We did a rough draft on our topic and each person in a row represented their group to share their papers. Then we did a little reading, and we stopped at Editing because of the time, and also because our moodle session Wednesday is about Editing of the Stage 3 Writing Process Worksheet.

Blue's CLUESS!

Today we briefly went over stage three. It consisted of writing, revising, and editing. We also had to write a formal draft. I was only able to write a paragraph. Extra time would be really nice for future writing assignments.

Rough Draft

Today we backed tracked to our freewriting assignment and turned it into a rough draft. And also we learned very good lessons anout writing. Like how your tone should be when your writng your paper. And we learned about diction. Diction is when when you choose different words to put more meaning in your paper so it can keep the reader reading. When I wrote my draft to day it was almost the same as my freewrite but more proper. And today was my first time I volunteered to read to the class and it felt great.

moodle #2

I almost forgot to moodle because I haven't been home all day. I think I was one of the last ones to post. We had to discuss the three tools that can help you organize your supporting material, which are listing, clustering, and outlining. Out of the three I prefer clustering because I can have my topic and start coming up with different ideas or supporting material and putting it into bubbles. These three methods are very useful in coming up with supporting material.

moodle session

I totally forgot about the blog for Wednesday. Well anyway, the moodle session was very interesting session. It taught me three different ways I could organize my notes. The three are clustering, listing, and outlining. I prefer outling because i'm already used to it and I already know how to doit.

My first late assignment! Gasp!

I completely forgot about this blog session. I went online to Moodle yesterday, but I did not remember to blog. The Moodle session yesterday was moderately easy. I read a few pages and replied to the request. I also put some personal opinions as to which major way to organize information was the easiest and most beneficial. I really enjoy Moodle sessions. Once I was finished, I got to sleep!:)

Yes! Praise God!

At the beginning of the semester I had a class that was easy for me to do and I love doing it, and it's going to be my profession. I want to be a math teacher, but it's hard to say that when I'm in MA085, anyways I was going to my first day and of all things to do I didn't get my math book. And I felt like a bad student and that's a bad first impression on me and I explained to the professor, and thank God she didn't get mad at me. And so five meetings passed and I felt horrible every single day for not being responsible enough to even get a math book. And finally after the fifth meeting I got a math book and started working on it. Thank You Lord!

Another funny event in class

In class we were discussing about how to finish unfinished sentences and to make it a solid proper sentence. And I was almost finished and then again there's always somebody who's going to be first to finish and present. So I stopped and listened to the first speaker. And again it was our funny classmate Rye, who made the whole class laugh including Dr. Rivera. And after that I still didn't finish because I got distracted again. But even if I was finished I still wouldn't have the courage to say my answers in front of the whole class.
I almost forgot about this and the moodle session. For today i read the book and found out three ways to help me organize my thoughts when im writing. Listing, clustering, and outlining. We had to say what they way on moodle and say which would work best for you. well see you guys monday!

Moodle 9/15/10

Class was pretty cool. I always like when we have class online because it makes it easier to do other stuff. All we had to do was write down Organizing Tools, which was Listing, Clustering and Outlining. After that we just had to blog and that was it for class! Now we just wait until Monday.
Honestly, I almost forgot about the moodle session today. Luckily, I had my handy dandy notebook (planner) to remind me. It was a pretty busy day today, thank goodness we met online. I think I'm actually getting the hang of it. It's more convenient. However, I miss my funny classmates. They make my day, sometimes. Well anyways, I just finished posting on moddle. Hopefully, I'll remember next time. Goodbye for now, until we meet again! (:

Second Day on Moodle

I forgot about going over my English schedule to find out if were going to meet in class, or online. I am so nervous about it, and so around 4pm, I went to the Computer Lab to check the schedule posted at the door. I found out that, were not going to meet. So, my day was saved! I had my spare time studying for the test for my next class, and thanks God, I passed it! Whew! That was so tough. And today, I'm listing down the three tools that can help me organize my supporting material at Moodle.

This is all up for now. See you guys next class! Ciao!
Today was our second time meeting in the moddle room. I think I'm getting the hang of not reporting to class and entering my posts online. Although meeting in the moodle room is quite convenient, somehow I love reporting to class. I think it's because of my wonderful classmates. For today, we had to list the three tools in how to organize which I learned are outlining, listing, and clustering. All three are familiar to me but I gained more knowledge of all three and learned something new about each one. Having classes in the afternoon makes me lazy and most especially on days when we report on moodle because I still have to report to school at 5:30 for my next class. Overall, today was a great day and I look forward to seeing you all next class meeting.

lists are to neat

I just finished posting on moodle. So, I had just finished reading about lists, clusters, and outlines, and I have to say that lists and outlines are to neat. Lists and outlines are just to rigid to me, and require you to really think and worry about what goes where and in what format. To me, clusters are easier since it allows you the freedom to write what you want as it comes to you. I like how clusters can go all over the place, and that it is okay as long as there is a line connecting it to some other idea. Although, I will say that lists and outlines are important as well, and they give others a better understanding of what you are trying to do. So, clusters are awesome for selfnotes, but lists and outlines are good if someone other than yourself needs to see what you are doing.

Today was another one of our online class days. So we didnt have to go to the classroom today. I kind of like it this way because I don't have to be at school til 5:20, but then at the same time I love seeing my beautiful classmates. Anyways we have to go on our moodle room. I just finished writing mine to the topic Oganizing Support.

Moodle Class Day

I don't have to report to class today but I am still coming to school for my other classes. I have a test in my other classes so moodle day really saves the day for me. I got time to study for my other class it's not that I am happy or taking advantage of our moodle room, I am just saying that I really need to study for my other class test. Well last class session was not that bad except for that I was just afraid to say my answer wrong that is why I did not volunteer to answer the questions. I started to learned alot from this class and this class was fun the students are very funny and as I always say that I really feel young again just being among you guys. Well lets give Dr. Rivera one of those school semester that she will never forget as long as she teaches at the university. Have fun guys and see you all in class on Monday.

Monday, September 13, 2010

Today was a very productive day. We finished two sections, Im so proud of everyone who volunteered your answers were amazing. I hope that every time we have class it is this productive I am really learning a lot.

The Moodle assignment really helped me reminisce over the time we have spent together. Looking back seeing what I have learned over these past weeks makes me feel accomplished. I am excited for the upcoming classes.

Sharing about My Day

I'm not really feeling well right now, due to the fact that I had been sleeping late these past few days. My day is kind of stressful, and tiring. I sometimes find myself falling asleep during class discussions in the Lecture hall. The coldness, and the darkness of the room made my eyes drop low. And when I hear my professor's voice in a loud tone, I'd be so scared and my attention would go back to the topic.

Today at English Class, it was not so stressful. We just have to do some exercises and Dr. Rivera would ask us who wanted to answer the questions. I'm not that good on answering questions, and I'm so scared that my answers would turn out to be wrong, sometimes (smiling).

After the English class, I hurried in to my next class. Oh my, The temperature's too high in the classroom! The rain outside summed up the temperature in the room (grrr). I am very much freezing, and I can't wait for the day to end. Okay then, times up! I have to leave real quick. I can't stand in the coldness anymore. I have to get going. And, this is all up for now. Ciao!

september 13

Today we discussed stage two. Stage two talks about the differences between the subject and the focus. We also learned about ineffective and effective and there differences. We did two exercises one was regarding the subject, focus, effective, and ineffective. The second one was about making a topic sentence. After all the writing and the discussion we got to do our blogging

Make-Up for Moodle Day

Moodle saved my life. I had to study for my Sociology test the next day so having that time gave me a big relief. Although, I don't think I did as well as I thought I would but I tried my best. I actually forgot my username and password for it so I thought I wasn't going to upload my assignment on time, then my hard-drive wouldn't open my essay so that made everything worse, but in the end I figured everything out. :)

Just another day in En-100

Today was such a hot day and I can't stand it.It was a very mellow day here in the computer lab. We learned about stage 2 and it was a interesting excercise that we did. I really like the moodle meeting because it was very helpful for us students who need to catch up on things. I am very excited about our next meeting because I have a project todo for my ID-180 class. En-100 is one out of the two classes because my other classes just give lectures and we just look at the power point slide throught out the whole class. Well see you guys next week Monday. Have a great rest of the week!

moodle session

Well our last class was an online session and that was when our all about me essay was due. I'm the type of girl to procrastinate on homeworks and projects which is really a bad habit. I only started on my essay the night before but it was easy mainly because it was about myself and I also enjoy writing essays. Having an online class is really interesting for me at least.

Monday, 13 Sept. 2010

Today we discussed stage two of the writing process. We learned the difference of an effective and ineffective thesis, as well as identifying the subject and focus of a thesis. In stage two of the writing process, we divulged in topic sentences. To better our understanding of clear and concise thesis statements, we did a few excercises and had a class discussion. A topic sentence cannot be vague nor absolutely specific. A topic sentence must have room for discussion and elaboration.
Lost

Today I got off work and headed to school, I noticed that the traffic is worst at the front gate going to JFK. For some reason I don't why I have to make a turned and went back to the entrance through the Carbullido elementary school. My husband was telling me that there is a short cut way out from there through the cemetery in Mangilao. I followed the road and then ended up going to the Toto garden, that means I was going in circle. I had to take the marine drive again and ended up in the traffic again. I should have just waited instead of wasting my gas driving in circle. That is the reason why I came in late again to our class. Sorry Dr. Rivera I did not mean to came in late most of the times to your class I will try my best to get out of work early if possible that way I'll leave my work at 3:00 instead of 3:30.

stage two.

So today was alright. We had two excerises. First, we have to determined whether it was effective/ineffective and subject/treatment. The next excerises we did was to finish the sentences. The sentences that my classmates came up with were pretty interesting and funny. We went over the stage two of the writing process, blog, and comment. See you online!
Today's class was relaxing, maybe because of the weather. We had a discussion on stage two of the writing process and it deals with writing the controlling idea and organizing and developing support. We then had to do the exercises and it was nice to hear the other students ideas of completing the topic sentence. Well that is all for today.
See you in the Moodle room!
Today's class was calm. We discussed some of the information pertaining to stage two in the writing process. Stage two deals with writing the controlling idea and organizing and developing support. We learned that an effective controlling statement is also known as the topic sentence for your paragraph and our thesis has both a subject and a focus. The subject is what we write about and the focus is what we intend to do with out subject. To help better our knowlegde of stage two, we practice exercises one and three in the book.

stage two

During class today we talked about stage two in the writtting process worksheet. The main thing I learned about stage two was to state your controlling idea and support it. This basically deals with the topic or thesis statement. We did writing worksheet that helped us practice writting better topic sentences. I also learned how to identify the subject and the treatment.

Class in the computer lab... again...

Today we had class in the computer lab. I think we might continue to have our classes in the computer lab from now on. Our discussion today was about controlling ideas and what is the subject and the reatment of a controlling idea. We also did exercise 1 & 3 in class. We learned alot and after all the hard work we did Dr. Rivera told us to start blogging.

Exercise 1 & 3

Today for class we were back in the computer lab. It feels so weird that we have not been here for like a week and half. Anyways, it was fun being in class again. I love my classmates! Today we talked about stage 2 of the writing process. Then we did exercise 1 and 3. That was a lot of writing! Then we went over our answers. After that we were pretty much done and just started blogging.

9/13

We learned about effective and ineffective sentences in EN100 class today. We did a couple assignments that deal with Stage Two. There's a subject and a focus in every sentence, the subject being what you intend to write about and the focus being what you intend to do with your subject. It pretty much made me learn a thing or two about topic sentences.

Class

Today's class went by pretty quick. We went straight into the work which was: The Writing Process: Stage 2, and got it done. It felt like the class went by in 10 minutes. I was thinking about not showing up but I feel like I should use my absences for better reasons. I'm still feeling like this class ain't that bad. Just keep in track of your work and do not procrastinate.

A piercing after class doesn't sound so bad right now. Just something to make my day a bit more interesting..

There ain't no party like a EN100 party, cuz a EN100 party don't stop!

Today in class we went over the writing process: stage 2. Then we did two exercises that will happen better understand the lesson. I did the lesson and i found it very educational. I don't want to be a snitch or anything, but Anthony and Davilynn did not do the work. I told them they should, but they laughed and called me names. But in the end we are still great friends looking for a great time.

Moodle

Our last class was an online class. It was not required to attend class, however, it was mandatory to sign in online on Moodle. We merely had to sign in and turn in our personal essay. Then, class was done. It was quick and efficient, plus we had twenty- four hours to log in. It was pretty interesting and fun. I enjoyed the five-minute-class.

Upgrade! Stage two!

So today we covered stage two. Everything seems fairly easy. I understood everything we learned today. I was happy to know that my seat mate, Mark, was willing to share his book with me. He was my partner for the writing assignments. Thanks again Mark!

We're in class.

I cannot say how thankful I am to be able to ask a question, and have someone there who can answer it quickly. That way, I do not have to wait for an answer, and can do what I need to do as soon as possible instead of trying to figure it out, but that was not really necessary for today's class. We pretty much read and did scentences that required us to put in our two cents. It was a preety good class.

September 13, 2010

Today were in the computer lab again and surprisingly it's not hot. We went over the Writing Process Worksheet Stage Two today. We did two exercises that helped us distinguish the difference between an effective and an ineffective sentence. For the first exercise we had to underline an determine the subject and focus of a sentence, and we had to indicate whether it is effective or ineffective. For the other exercise we were given parts of a sentence and we had to fill in words to make it an effective sentence. After that, we shared our answers with everyone and we were given the green light to start blogging.

English, then Modern Warfare 2

Today was a very nice day. It was nice and sunny, and I was wearing black. It was hot, but I really enjoyed the sunshine. I went to my regular Monday morning classes and had a five hour gap between my classes. I went to GPO for lunch and had some Imperial Garden. The barbecue chicken really hit the spot. After lunch, I went to my physical therapy appointment for my shoulder. After that was over and done, I went back to UOG. I still had an hour and a half till EN 100, so I went into the library and read Chapter 4 of my psychology book. Five minutes to the start of class, I left the library and set off on my perilous journey through the mean hallways of UOG. I got to EN 100 without harm. We reviewed "The Writing Process: Stage 2", where we learned about how to decipher the subject and treatment from a sentence. The class was then assigned some exercises, which were fairly easy. The rest of the class was then dedicated to our blogs. I finished early, so I just chilled out till the end of class. I wanted to go home already. Modern Warfare 2 was calling my name.

MW2: "Dominic, I miss you."
ME: "I'm coming, baby!"

MOODLE!!! DO THE MOODLE DANCE!

Wednesday we did not have class. Which means i did not get to see my EN100 family. I was so sad that i was going to cry. But instead of crying I went on the moodle. From there i got to see all my fellow classmates writing assignments and from the looks of it, it was a job well done. I would say my assignment was average but i did try my best. All in all it was a good moodle session.

Trust!!

The other day, my mom was wondering why I have so much free time on my hands. Then I told her, that maybe I finished my work ahead of time so that I don't have to worry about later, because I'm an overachiever! Then my mom just looked at me with this face, the face of a mother that doesn't believe! I then told her, "Mom, if you don't trust in me then trust in God!"
Dr. Rivera I did my assignment but I don't know if it posted right, please let me know about it. I missed you Dr. Rivera and I also saw you on the news (pdn) are you going somewhere or you already came back? Sorry for asking just curiosity.

Moodle

This was my first experience of an online class and it was good. I did not know that we were supposed to reply more than once. We had to turn in our All About Me essays and it was fairly simple. I had to look back on the directions on how to log on the moodle room, but now i understand. I look foward to our next online class.

Online Class

I had completley forgotten where to go for our online class, and ended up clicking on all these different things that were simply not where we needed to go to. I spent so much time on different areas on the site, while freaking out about if I was in the right area. Although I took a long time trying to figure out where I went the first time durring class, I did end up going on the correct sight after unintentionally creating a new account for the moodle room thing. Thankfully, I was still able to turn in my things on time, and post a comment about free writting for our online class.

090810

Yesterday was the first time we had our online class. Our "All About Me" essays were due yesterday as well. Anyways, I loved it. We didn't have to come to class. We just had to go to our moddle room and submit our essays and do our class discussions on stage one.

I forgot man.............

On wednesday I was ready to go to english class at four O' clock and I was felling good about it. But then when I got there I forgot there wasn't any class meeting and I was going too show Dr. Rivera my essay, if I did it right. So to speak I stayed at the school till four O' clock for nothing. And I was calling my mom but she wouldn't answer so I asked my friend to drop me home. And she did and my mom asked me why I was home early, and I told her I forgot I don't english class today. And I could have been at home long time if I haven't forgot that we didn't have to meet today.

Labor Day

Labor day was fun for me, because on that free day I went on a hike instead of slepping in. It all started at five O' clock when I woke up. I got up early because I thought I was going to be late but I guess I woke up too early, so I got up and started making my lunch and whatever I needed for the hike. So at the hike I had a good time, it was very slippery going down but I didn't fall down. And when we reached the bottom it was a river connected to the ocean and the water was cold, really cold! And the river had a cliff that you could jump off six feet or more into the river. And at first I was scared to even jump but I just jumped without hesitation and it was super cool. When I jumped I felt a sudden shock in my heart till I hit the water. But once I jumped off that cliff I wasn't scared anymore. And that's what happened on Labor Day.

Moodle

Moodle you saved my life! I had so much things to for school and I had to go to practice for softball. So today I got somethings done that I was running late to do. I wish I had moodle for all of my classes because my hours are stretched apart. I have classes from 8-11 and then I have class at 4:00 and 5:30. So it was good for me to just go home and not have to come back. Well see you guys in class!

Homework to do when I arrive back home

Today I arrived at 6:00 pm and I turned in all my home work assignments that were due today for my EN 100 class. The "All About Me" paper and the "Stage One Strategies" assignment. Pretty simple stuff because we have covered this information in high school and in class as well. Dr. Rivera, if you are reading this, I was supposed to bring home a progam booklet from the Basic Training Graduation I attended last week, but I did not recieve a booklet, but I will be submitting my paper about my experience there.

Mothers know best:)

So here there I was, finished with my essay; only to find out that I forgot my username and password. I tried at least 50 different combinations tonight, but none of them worked. I could literally feel the rage seeping through my fingertips! I ended up trying to create another username using another one of my email addresses, but it said "That address has already been used". My mom just so happened to wake up from her sleep to see how I was doing with my essay. I told her the situation and the words that came out of her mouth were "Why don't you just use my email address?" So I did just that and the frustration went away! Ahh moms, what would we do without them:)

Moodle Online

This is my first time meeting online class:) And I'm happy because, I had the time to study and flex my mind. I am wondering on what will be our next discussion for the next class. How I wish that we'll always meet online. (Kidding!) But of course, meeting in class physically and mentally, is still the best of all.

I have nothing more to say because, I am so haggard right now. I just came home from school, and I feel sleepy right now.

Going to hit up next time. Ciao!

moodle doodle poodle.

Honestly, meeting online was good. It gives me a lot of time to catch up on my studying. Although I'm getting a headche. It seems like no matter how much I read, none of the information is registering in my head. Well, Maria and I went to my house and I was finishing up my essay while she fell asleep. Thanks for the help, best friend! When she woke up, we just skyped and facebooked.
Meeting on line today is great oppotunity to finished with my other homework, being a mom and working a full time job is very hard for me to be a full time student too. Well anyways thank God that I am able to finished with my stage one assignment and all about me essay. As usual after a long weekend I am kind of out of the way with my work.

Moodle

Today for class we are not to report to class but to report in the moodle room. At first, I didn't know what exactly it was we had to do but I ended up going into the forum and realizing that for class we had to reply to the post Dr. Rivera instructed us to talk about. It is my first time having an online class so I just replied like how I would reply on this blog. It was easy and I ended up finishing my work giving me time to study for my pther class. See you all next class! :)

Meeting online

Well today we were supposed to upload our essay, which I did. And we're all supposed to go into moodle or something. I don't know the status. I feel so lost and confused. I hope that's all we need to do. Everything is so complicated right now and it's getting really hard to focus on school.

Labor Day

Today is Labor Day. No school. I spent the night at mt best friend's house, so I was with my Merizo family all day. Our plan was to study for our Psychology class, but we studied how to do a reversal in UFC 2010. I am still confused. It's ok. I'll just stick with MW2. I went back to my Agat house around 3 and nobody was home. They decided to go watch a movie and not tell me. How they love me so. Around 7, I went to play indoor soccer, or futsal if you may. I scored like 3 goals for the night. Now I'm here, typing this blog. And that my friends, was my Labor Day.

My Hero

Today I wrote about my hero which is my mother. My mom is such a hardworking lady, she wakes up everyday at 2:00 in the morning to do her empanada business. My mom had to quit her job at continental to take care of my grandmother when she got very sick, because her brothers and sister couldn't take care of her during the day. So since 1997 my mom has been doing her business just to pay bills and to put food on the table. I love my mom so much because she does anything for my brother and me.

Just blogged now

Holy Golly! I almost forgot that I still have to do a blog about last day's happenings. Oh well, my computer did not worked out last time, and so I was not able to write a new blog entry in class. Last topic discussed on class was Freewriting. And I am not sure if the paper that Dr. River handed out is a homework or what? Cheese! Does anybody know what it is for? I admit that I was not really paying attention about what she said because I was so busy placing all my stuffs in my bag for the next class. And I hope it isn't all about homework stuff, and I'm so worried about it right now. If only I knew someone in class. :'(

Well, Freewriting - brainstorming, and all that stuffs. I chose the topic about "How to Discipline the Children". And I had written down all the desired ways on how to - ideas. Really, children should not be seen spanked just to discipline them. I am a lover of kids, and I love cuddling them because they are such a wonderful angels for me. They may sometimes get on my nerves, but I am very patient. I don't want to ruin my day, or their day because of my undesired mood towards them. In short, I just loved them, and I respect them.

I am just going to end by here for now because, I still have to do my "All About Me Essay" :D Chao!

Aug 30, Monday

Today, we learned ways to support text- based writing. We were in the computer lab, and we were reading, typing, and learning all at once. I had to share a book with a classmate of mine. Nonetheless, it was a fun class. I learned ways to write and quote. One of the important lessons we learned was how to cite. I enjoyed today's lesson.

Free Write Away!

Today in class, we were going over this reading that Dr. Rivera wanted us to pay attention to. The most interesting thing happened, when Dr. Rivera told us to write a freewrite on what the books topics has for us to do. When she gave us 20 minutes to try and finish our assignment, guess who volunteers to share with the rest of the class?! RAI! RAI RIOS! I already knew in the back of my head that this guy is gonna do something hilarious in the next couple of minutes. So I turned my chair gave him my full attention (because I know it's gonna be good). His topic was about his Misrable Day today turning good.

Good Job Rai and Tony and the other 2 guys who went up!

Rainy Day

So we are in the computer lab again and we were discussing about freewriting. Then we had a freewriting exercise to do. We had to choose a topic and just freewrite about it. The topic I chose was why a college education is important. Which it is because that opens more doors for you in the future. After doing the exercise some of us got the chance to share our papers. Rai was first and his topic was a bad or good day at school as usual his paper was interesting and at the same time funny. Then 3 other students were able to share their papers. After all of that Dr. Rivera gave us the time to do our blogging and also to comment on the other blogs.
