Last Day

I also apologized for being late on this post since our internet connection at home isn't working so I have to drive to the internet cafe to do this blog.
Thanks to all the memories we all had, I can say, GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE, and have a splendid happy holidays! :) See you all,.
I want to say, it was a blast getting to know each and every one of you. I shared so many memories with you guys and I wouldnt ask for anyone better to share it with. Dr. Rivera, you are one of the best teachers I've had. You will be terribly missed. Well, on our final class day, we had a party. It was fun. I really enjoyed it. I'm not all that sad because I know that I will still some of you next semester. But for those of you that won't be here next semester, I want to say "so long, farewell, to you my friend. Goodbye, for now, until we meet again".

The End

Today was my last day in EN-100. Some of the other students presented their poems and they were enjoyable. We then ate our food. I just want to thank everybody for being so awesome. This class was one of my favorites. So thank you all again. I LOVE YOU ALL! Especially you Dr. Rivera!

What a Great semester....

As days goes by fast each day I know for a fact that it will come to this day of saying our good byes. I, as always say that I am the oldest among you classmates and there is one thing that I enjoy the most. I really felt young again because of being among with you. It is really a great pleasure to be having you as my classmates even if we don't really get to know each other that well but atleast don't be such stranger when we meet in the hallways. Good bye classmates and may the lord quide you thru the holiday and everyday.
To Dr. Rivera, thank you, salamat poo, sii yus maase and kinisow chapwur if there is another way to express my sincere thanks to you I would used it instead. It is and it will always a pleasure to have you as a teacher, you are a wonderful teacher who is full of love, respect, understanding, humble, and most of all you are the greatest. I never met a teacher as nice as you Dr, Rivera please keep up the good work. May the good lord bless you and happy holidays I will always see around. Love always GloriaJane Sonis

Until next time!

It was just three months ago when we had our first day of class. Oh my was I excited to meet my new classmates and teacher! Unfortunately that excitement turned into anxiety. Up and down the stairs I went, looking for EC103. I almost gave up and went home! Finally, I saw a bunch of guys and girls that looked just as lost as I was. Something told me to follow them and I did just that. To my surprise, they were all looking for EC103. Just like that, the anxiety went away and the excitement rushed back into my system. I was really glad that I wasn't the only one late.
Days passed and I got to know some of you little by little. I really wish I had gotten to know all of you as much as I did with others. Although this didn't happen, I still feel that the class was like a family of its own. I could literally feel the love and care that we had for each other. This feeling of belonging really helped and encouraged me to do my best in class and I thank you all for this!
Other than to pass the class, my goal was to make new friends. I did just that! I will miss you all! The void which once occupied a part of my heart and soul is now filled with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Thank you all for sharing this past class with me. It was a blast!
Today was the last day of EN100. I just want to thank Dr.Rivera once more for taking me into the class. It was a true blessing and I am very thankful! As this chapter in my life comes to a close, it's time to open up a new one in hope to find just as great an experience as I had with all of you. Fate refrains me from saying goodbyes and farewells, so with that said, until next time my friends!
Love,
Matt:)

Last Day

Today was our last day of EN-100-07. Some people got to present their poems they did for their final exam. It was pretty interesting. Most of the class presented their poems and it was nice to hear what they had put in it. We got to say our goodbye's and everyone got to eat in celebration of getting through the semester. I left early though, not getting to eat.
Today was our last day in EN 100. It was quite a memorable day because we were able to listen to poems composed by our classmates. I enjoyed listening to their creative work accompanied with the laughs they brought about. This past semester, I can honestly say I've grown a little out of my shyness. I believe it's because I have grown comfortable with my classmates and can truly say I'll miss you all. I've learned many new and useful things that will help me in future English courses. I've learned that through patience and the drive to complete the steps in the writing process, you will be able to complete an essay that you'd be happily and confident to submit. I've learned so much but I doubt it could fit in this blog. I wish you all the best of luck with EN 110 and hope to keep in touch. Lastly, I'd like to thank Dr. Rivera for teaching me all that I've gained because without you, I'd probably still be stuck with the knowledge I gained in high school. Hope you all have a great Christmas and good luck with the rest of college!
Today was the final class for EN 100 fall semester and I would say it was a good end to a fun and exciting semester. As co-chairman of the potluck committee I would like to congratulate everyone and say job well done on the potluck today.I feel everything went smoothly. A special thanks goes out to Dom for coming through with the paper products. Also, I'd like to thank Rai for his freestyle poem. Finally, thank you everyone for a very enjoyable educational experience especially Dr.Rivera. I feel this class has helped me tremendiously in understanding the different forms of writing and has helped prepare me for further college writing assignments. Seasons greetings and have a safe and blessed New Year!

Sniff! sniff!

To all my classmates in EN 100:

So long, farwell, but this is not goodbye
But most of all, I'll miss you Rai.
Here we are, the cool new era
All thanks to Dr. Rivera.

It was a pleasure to meet all of you. Thanks for being my classmate and my friend, thank you especially thank you Dr. rivera for being there for us, ans working hard just to make us pass. Take everyone and hope to see all of you once again. Happy Holidays!

Last Day

Today is the last day as an EN 100 student. It was a good experience, and I learned a lot. I just want to say thank you to Dr. Rivera for accepting me into her class and thank you to my classmates. I hope everyone has passed the course so we can progress to the next level and I hope all of you have a good break. Good luck in the future.

December 8

Well for December 8 I did most of my cleaning in the morning. Then I was able to do some of my homework. It was mainly for my ID180 class. Then I started to work on my final self reflection midterm. Then for the rest of the day i went swimming

Monday, December 6, 2010

Today I was a bit late for class and I wish I was there to hear my classmates inspirational poems. I will recite my poems next class and hopefully they sound good. I worked hard putting my poems together and I hope that counts for something. Goodluck to those who took the Final Exam. See you all on Monday for the potluck!
Today I got to share my poems with the class. I really liked everyone's poems and thought they were very inspirational. I liked my powerpoint and I hope you all thought it was creative. Hope you all have a good weekend, see you next class!
Today in class, we were able to listen to five of our classmates recite their inspirational poems. I really liked all of them and admired their confidence to present it infront of class today. I'm nervous to recite next class and hope I do well! See you all Monday!

Exam Day

I was sitting in the corner deciding whether to take the exam or just do the 10 poems that Dr. Rivera assigned us to do instead of taking the written exams. I decided to write at least 10 poems most of them are about myself or my family. I know that if I take the final exam I will fail this class for good. So good luck to the ones that took the exam, and those that aleady did their presentation you guys were awsome. You guys did a wonderful job and good luck to you in your other classes.

Exam Day.. For Me

Before the few of us took our exam, some of our classmates had presented their poems that they created in substitution of the real exam. The poems were pretty good and interesting to hear about. After the presentations was our last and final exam for the class. It was pretty long and intense. I studied a lot because I knew it was going to be a little longer than our regular tests. Hope it doesn't bring my grade down too much.

Final Exam

Today was the day everyone that everyone was supposed to take their final exams. One day, Dr. Rivera sent an e-mail regarding alternatives to the exam. I thought that it would be easier to take the exam so I went ahead and passed the situation. I should've done the alternative because the exam was pretty hard. It was the same thing all over again, but I'm that confident as the other tests. We'll see though hopefully I don't make this mistake of not taking opportunities in the future. Good job to those people who did the poems and other work. You made the right choice.

Final Test

Everybody did very well on the presentations today! I can't wait to present and take out the burden on me. In the presentations like those shown, theirs are better than mine. Dr. Rivera only allowed 5 presenters today, and the others will be scheduled next week Monday. Some of my classmates preferred to take the written exam. I wish them luck that they get a high grade. And for the presenters like me, I wish us all luck and a good grade. I just hope that all of us will be moved to the higher English 110. Good luck everybody!

Exam Day

Well today was exam day. Finally one exam down and 3 more to go. It's the first time I've been late to class and missed out on some of the poems. One more week to go and were out on for break. So our final self - reflection is due next class and then that's the end.  Hope everyone passes this class.

10 Poems 2day!

Today I read my poems aloud in class today
I was stuttering like a weirdo like I didn't know what to say
My heart was pounding so fast and so hard
I felt like I wanted to faint! This caught me off guard

Wow!

We just heard a couple of people in class say their poems, and I have to say that they were really good. Some were funny, a lot were totally sweet, and everything was just plain awesome. I wonder what everyone else is going to present on our last day of EN 100- 07. Also, I hope everyone does awesome on their exams.

EXAM DAY!

Today was our exam day. However I didn't take it because I wanted to do the 10 poems. I felt like it was much easier for me and plus I like writing poems. Well sometimes I don't. But in this case, it's better. So we presented today. There were five people who presented today. I was one of those five. Anyway, now we're in class while the rest are taking their final exam. Good luck to you all. I hope you do great!

Poems Galore

I am so happy I got my poem recital done. I was the first one to present. I wish the whole class could have heard my poems. Although I am not in love, most of my poems are about love and its essences. I'm really glad I got all ten poems down on time. It was a great experience!

Final Exam Day

Today was exam day. Fortunately for most of us, we had to choose between taking the exam or doing other things. I opted to write an anthology in replacement of the exam. So, today we had to present our poems. Unfortunately, we only had time for five people to present. The next class we will finish off our presentations. I wanted to present today, but time did not permit. Next class is our potluck party. EVERYONE BRING YOUR MATERIALS!

Final Exam Whew!

Today was "The day" of days, this is where it all counts, because today we took the final exam, and I hope I did well. Also we heard our classmates poems for their final, and most of them were funny, for example one poem had to rhyme by using our classmates name, it was so funny. I just want to say before we have fun on Monday, thank you Dr. Rivera for teaching us, and taking the time to study and get ready for our class. We know you put a lot of effort to make us pass, even we were late sometimes. I promise from experience here I will not procrastinate as much as I did here. Thank you once again for being a great teacher, and I wish you all my classmate the best and you all pass ans move on. See you all on Monday!

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Well today we finished our last chapter of our book. It was mainly the basics. Then we did a few exercises. Then we discussed a little bit more. Well the semester is almost over and our exams are due on Monday. Hopefully I pass. Good luck to everyone on your exams.

Why Oh Why..

This is my fault. I was not aware that we don't go moodle again since it's almost the end of the semester. I missed out the fun, the discussion, and the grade for today. I am so worried about my grade. I don't want to make it go down, and I am so worried about it so much. If only there's a way for me to make it up, or better yet, turn back the time just to be in the class. I am so sad and depressed. But thanks God because I never have to worry about my final exam grade because I am done with the poems, and I would like to do some more.. I just love writting poems, and I am excited to share it on class. I hope that everybody liked it! ^_^ See you in class everyone and goodluck for the exam!

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Today for class we completed the entire book. We discussed the Handbook which helps us write effective sentences. We learned the different parts of speech such as nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, and conjunctions and did exercises to help us gain a better understanding of the subject. We also touched on subjects and verbs and how they can be interchanged in order. Lastly, we discussed the different kinds of sentences like simple, compound, compound complex, and complex. We learned a lot today and I know it'll help me in the future. Happy early birthday! See you next class!

We are done!

We just finished the last chapter in our books today. We read about the parts of speech and did some excersises to double check what we read. We also did a teacher evaluation for Professor Rivera, and read over the list of things that people are brinig for the party at the end of the semester. Now we just need to do our exams, and watch some technological exam alternatives on our exam day for extra credit. Good luck to everyone on their exams!
Today we finally finished the book and went over Writing Effective Sentences. We discussed the eight parts of speech and did exercises. We also discussed combining sentences and verbs. Dr. Rivera had to step outside because we had to do an evaluation and I am sure she had positive remarks. Our co-chair announced what each person is bringing for our class potluck and I was not aware that I was going to bring pancit, thanks to Dolores and Monica. Hopefully people do not forget to bring what they are supposed to. Exam is due next week! I better get started on my poems. Also, HAPPY advanced BIRTHDAY DR. RIVERA!!!!!

Handbook

PARTS OF SPEECH! I have never realized that there were eight parts of speech. I merely thought there were only four; nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, conjunctions, preposition, and interjections. I have to fully understand all of these for I do not. I know the basic nouns, verbs, and adjectives; but the others makes it a little bit difficult. Basically, in this chapter, we were learning the basics.
Unfortunately, its our last chapter. The next class is final exam day and then the last day of class is the pot luck party. It is so sad! I am going to miss this class. Hopefully, my next English is not as difficult than this class.

Chicken!

Today we read a bit of the handbook. I skimmed through the rest of the book and saw that there are more than 50 exercises! Other than the book work, we also had our class evaluation today. Don't worry Dr. Rivera, I put in a lot of good comments about you:) I am nearly finished with my poems. I can't wait to share them with the class!

December 1, 2010

Today we were in the computer lab. It's been awhile since we have been here. Anyway, we had our regular class discussion. For today we went over chapter 17, the handbook. We did some exercises. Then Dr. Rivera reminded us about the upcoming dates. Next week, Monday, is our final exam or our projects are due. We also have our party coming up which will be on our last day, December 13. That was about it for today.

Evaluation

Today, we went over Chapter 17: Handbook, which started off by discussing two simple principles that are context of communication and the eight parts of speech. The chapter was just reviewing what we learned and it kind of refreshed my memory of what we learned in previous English classes. We did an evaluation for the course which took rather long, and we basically finished off the chapter. There was a lot of information and I just realized I have to study all of this for the final exam. I wanted to do the 10 poems but I know I would not have time for it. Hopefully, all goes well. I was quite surprised that class went by quick. Although, I'm ready to finish off the day.
Today was a good day. The weather was wonderful! It wasn't too cold and it wasn't to hot. I loved it. First of all, we did an evaluation and Dr. Rivera had to step out of class. After, we read and went over the 8 parts of speech, which are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, prepostions, conjunctions, and interjections. We also did some exercises, and it made me realized I need to go over the 8 parts of speech again. We finshed the book! Aside from that, next week, monday, is our final exam. I decided to do the 10 poems, and I am happy to say that I am almost done. Well, that's it for today! See you next week and I hope you have a good weekend!

Evaluation

Today was very concerning due to the accents in the classroom. Me and started earlier today trying to perfect our British accents. Then when we came into class today we started doing it then Rai jumped in on our accent switching too. It was more funny when Rai did but me and Dom had our time of laughs in the library. What really caught me off guard was when Rai changed his again to more of a southern accent. That was really the funniest accent he had in his arsenal. In class we went over Chapter 17 which contained the different types of speech: Nouns, Pronouns ,Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Perpositions, Conjunctions, and Interjections.

Parts of speech

Today in class we learned about different types of speeches. Nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. So we were learning also where to put it in, and which is which. It's pretty confusing especially with the prepositions and the adverbs. Also we were reminded that the end of the semester is coming soon before hand, so that means that we'll all be busy in the last two weeks. To include we were also filling out a evaluation form about our professors, and I know Dr. Rivera is a good teacher. So to conclude, I wish you all the best for the final exam.

Hip Hip Toodoolydoo

Today was nice. Walked into class after an awesome bathroom break. Today in class we read about the 8 parts of speech. The parts are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections. We then did an exercise, which we breezed through. I wrote 6 poems so far. Writing poems is harder than i thought.

Last Class

Last class was rather long. We discussed the persuasive writing and how to write a research paper. We discussed two long chapters. First, we did activities to better our understanding in persuasive writing. Once we were done, we discussed what is required in a research paper. We did a few exercises, such as how to properly cite sources and how to use notecards.
Before class had begun, we also talked about the different ways we can do our final exam. Thankfully, writing poems was one of them. It made my life easier. I do love to write poems. My freshman year has become somewhat easier.

12/01/10

Today we went through Chapter 17 which was the handbook. We learned about the 8 parts of speech and other things. Then we did a teacher evaluation where Dr. Rivera had to step out of class. We filled it in and then she came in. After that, we continued reading and came across an exercise. I found out it pretty hard because English is hard for me, for the most part. Then we went through the list for our party!

Failing is not an option

Lately I have been really slacking on my school work and it is embarrassing that it takes me the entire semester to realize that I am not doing well. But I do know have the brains to past this class. It is my laziness that drags me down. But now a days everyone is lazy. But I should not be like everyone else. I should be my own person and really expand as an individual. I have problems, but not big ones, just little ones!

Writing the Reseach Paper

In class Monday, We discussed about writing a research paper and the steps that needs to be taken in order to write a decent paper. Then later on during class I volunteered to do a problem from the book on the board. I only did it because Dolores asked me to and I wanted to see how I would do. In the end, I messed up terribly and got many parts of the answer wrong. Lastly Mrs. Rivera asked us how many of us would want to do the poems instead of the essay. I was encouraged by Davilyn to do the poems instead of the Exam.
Good Day for me now I gotta write 10 poems!
In our Monday class, we went over a lesson dealing with research. A research outline is helpful because it is an easy-to-understand format. We did some exercises to change a standard outline of information into a research outline. It deals with a topic, finding the sources, and taking notes.
This Monday, almost eveyone signed up for what they want to bring on the last day of school. We also stated what we wanted to do for our final exam, and it sounded like majority of the class want to do the ten poems option. Also, we read and did excersis- one of which involved MLA (Modern Language Association).

Chapter 16

Today we learned about Citing works. It was the last chapter in the book. I learned a lot about citations and forms of MLA citing. I found it hard at first, but I caught on pretty fast. I left my book today, so I had to share one with Dolores. Thank you!
I was not able to attend class today so I hope I did not miss out on a lot of work. I read over the ten steps to writing a research paper. It includes selecting a topic, finding sources, listing sources, taking notes, refining your thesis and outline, writing and revising your drafts, and submitting the required materials. I looked over the different ways in which you can cite your sources. For the final exam, I think I'll also choose to do the ten peoms even though I'm not that talented in writing peoms. Hopefully my ideas just come to me.

Today at Class

We did alot of things today and some students volunteered to do the exercises. I laughed so hard when one of my classmate kept sneezing everytime he writes on the board because of his allergy to the chalk dust. Oh well, I feel a kind of pity for him. I also have an allergy to chalk dust too.
I really liked the topic about the MLA form. It is like a kind of puzzle for me because we have to write the proper format to fit its desired arrangement. Next was the Research Paper topic. I am thankful because the book gave us an example on how to do the research paper. I have the idea now on where to start with.
See you all next class!
Today was a good day. Unfortunately, Andrea couldn't stay for class. Well, we went over the MLA again. We also did a couple of exercises and did some note taking. I also volunteered and went up to the board. Anyways, I feel horrible because I didn't turn in my hard copy for my self reflection. My grade is going to go down, and I'm not satisfied with it now. I hope I can still try and get the grade I want. See you next time!
Today was a very productive class period. It was quite fun and everyone got a chance to read during class. We discussed the ten steps into writing a research paper. We also discussed the MLA format at the different ways to cite your sources dealing with different work materials. We also did a lot of exercises to help us better understand the topic discussed. Today, we also had to inform Dr. Rivera on what our choice of action was dealing with our final exam, I chose to write the 10 poems. I usually struggle with writing poems so I'm hoping my imagination will take its toll and help me with this task. The semester is coming to an end and I'm doing good in class and hope to keep it that way. See you all in the computer lab on Wednesday!
Well today's class was very interesting. We did a lot of exercises today. We talked about taking notes. Then she explained a little bit about the exam and what the options are. I chose to do the 10 poems because i enjoy doing poems. Then we were able to go home.

Student Paragraph and essay

Today we learned mostly about writing a research paper. There are ten steps to help you write a reserach paper, one is select a topic, this step helps you to find what topic you are going to write about. Two is to find sources, this step is to help you find sources that will help you to write your paper. Three is to list sources, this step tells you to list your sources in the preliminary bibliography, and the works cited list. Four is to take notes, this step is to help you to take notes when you need to know the main ideas. Five is refine your thesis and outline, this step is helps you refine your thesis statement and it narrows down what you are planning to write. Six is to write your first draft, this step helps to write out your first draft and it gives you an idea of what and how you are going to write your paper. Seven is revise your first draft, this step is self explanatory, this step is to help you correct your first draft and to look if there is any errors, for example: spelling errors, punctuation, awkward sounding sentences, etc. Eight is to prepare your work cited section, this step basically tells you to list your sources down used to help write your paper. Nine is to write your final draft, this step is to write your final paper. And ten is submit required materials, this step generally is to make sure you got all the requirements down and to turn it in.

11/29/10

So class today was fun! We had a lot of exercises to do. We had a class discussion on writing the research paper. We went over the MLA formats of listing sources and we also went over taking notes. We did a bunch of examples on the board. Then Dr. Rivera went over the options for our final exam. I am definitely doing the 10 poems. It is so much easier. I like writing poems instead of taking an exam. We also talked about our pot lock. Apparently we will be having a lot of chips that day! That was about it for class.

In class (Poems)

I am very inspired by the poems that I read from the micronesianpoetsclub.blogspot.com and the guampoetsclub.blogspot.com there are alot of amazing and loving poems. I never know Dr. Rivera would be such famous and amazing, I only knows her as a teacher and a Doctor not that much. Anyways Dr. Rivera I am so proud of you and congradulations.

Moodle

I got the email sent by Dr. Rivera, and I've decided to take the exam instead. Honestly, I don't have the mind to think of good ideas this time. I'll just have to study like I used to. On moodle, the topic was about Argumentation.
Arguments are persuasion on a topic about which reasonable people disagree.  Arguments involve controversy. An example is, "It is illegal for a stranger to enter someone's home uninvited. Firefighters enter people's homes uninvited, therefore firefighters are breaking the law."
Problem: The exception does not break nor define the rule; a dicto simpliciter ad dictum secundum quid (where an accountable exception is ignored).
I really liked this topic so much. It gives sense of understanding and critic.

Moodle Me!

This past Wednesday we were reqired to write a moodle assignment about the writing style; argument. When I was writing the assignment, it was like the book took the words right out of my mouth when I was about to write it down. If there's anyone in the world that knows anything about arguments it would have to be me. Arguing is more of an art for me than some writing style.
Our online session was about arguments. An argument is caused by reasonable people disagreeing on a topic and it involves controversy. An example that I used is people for and against the military buildup. There will be arguments on this issue because it will have a big impact on the people of Guam and the community.

Moodle Argument

Wednesday's moodle was about what an argument is and an example of an argument. So, everyone pretty much wrote that argument is persuasion on a topic about which reasonable people disagree, and then gave an example. The example ranged from Harry Potter to the chicken or the egg theory. So does is Harry Potter one of the best book/movie series, and does the chicken or the egg come first?

Poems, Story or Exam?

This Monday, we were given the option of doing ten poems or a 40 page story instead of taking an Exam. It sounded like the majority of the class, who were leaning away from the exam, were in favor of doing ten poems instead of a 40 page story, but I was a little intrigued by doing a story. I don't know if I really do want to do the story option, but, for now, it's an alternative to the exam.
Happy Thanksgiving! Yesterday we learned that an argument is persuasion on a topic about which reasonable people to think in a certain way or to do something. It involves controversy. They can be formal or informal.
I apologize that I didn't moodle and blog on the right time. My Internet was down, so there wasn't much I could do. Well, we talked about arguments and listed some examples! It was a good day today and Happy Thanksgiving! God bless you and your family! See you in class!

Thanksgiving Break!

Hey everyone! I forgot to moodle yesterday, but it is better late than never, right? Anyway, this semester is coming to an end. It sucks, I actually liked this class. Oh well, it's Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a great day with your families! I'll see you all in class on Monday.

MOODLE

Happy thanks giving day to all of you, moodle day really helps me alot with time because I get to have some free time with my other homework. Today on the moodle we discussed the topic on Argument and every one came up with good examples, I used the two parties that as an examples like Calvo/Tenorio and Guiterrez/Aquon. People were choosing which party to agree on.

Moodle

Today we learned about arguments. I wish arguments never existed. I wish everyone could just get along! :) The example I put was, What came first? The chicken or the egg? . This argument is but a minor one.

HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING

Great it's moodle session today. I enjoy moodle sessions because it gives me a lot of free time. For today's moodle session we had discuss and give examples of arguments. Anything could be argued no matter what the topic is as long as you do research  on it. The example I gave is whether Twilight is better than Harry Potter.

Nov 24, 2010

Today we had to moodle about Arguments. Argument is persuasion on topic about which resonable people disagree. Alot of controversy is usually involved in arguments. Arguments happen everyday over many different issues. Arguments help people figure out what the best solution.

Argument

In Moodle, we discussed about arguments, and it means that it's a persuasion on a certain topic about which people disagree. And it was an interesting topic to read and write about, because this world is always filled with arguments on what to do, or how to do, and other things that people argue about today. Also, Thanksgiving is coming closer and I bet we'll have a great time! I know I would, because tomorrow I'll be stuffing myself like the turkey on the table. But this holiday is also to be thankful for what we have, and sometimes we take advantage of that when we all know that there are other people who don't have it good like us. Anyways, everybody have a nice Thanksgiving and wish you the best on studying fot the final exam.
Today for class we moodled for the last time. I always loved moodle days because it gave me time to catch up on other school work and I'm going to miss it. We had to discuss writing an argument and give an example of the tool. I learned that anything can be arguable as long as you do your research and search for documents and reasoning to support your argument. I look forward to seeing you all on Monday and have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

monday's blog

Well I totally forgot to blog when I got home. That class was a very interesting session we got to find out what were averaging in her class. Then we read about definitions and did some exercises. Then Dr. Rivera gave us some options whether or not to do the test or to write poems, short story,or even a play. After that we were able to go home.

Final Moodle Session

This was the last moodle session for the semester! I'm going to miss our online classes because we did not have to physically go to class. We had to discuss what argument is and give examples of this type of writing. The example that I used was women in combat. There are different reasons and documents supporting whether or not women can play a role in combat. When writing you must have a background, proposition, and support your argument.

Yersterday's Class.

So I didn't get to blog yesterday. I forgot because I was studying for my sociology test, which I had today. Anyway, I just remembered I had to when I was at school today, that is why I'm blogging right now. In class yesterday Dr. Rivera gave us our grade as of right now. I'm doing fine. I just need to turn in the hard copy of one my essays. She also gave us other options besides taking the final exam. The option I really liked was the 10 poems one. I think that it what I'm going to choose. I like writing poems. I would rather do that then take the final exam. Well that is about it. I'll see you all at the next class meeting!

Definition

In today' class, we discussed chapter sixteen "Definitions." We did a few exercises to sharpen our skills in this writing process. Like always, we read and shared our thoughts regarding some of the passages we had to read.
Before class had begun, however, we were told five different options that we could do instead of taking a regular final exam. I was relieved when we had these different options. Luckily, one of those options were one of the things I like to do, which is write poetry. I also write raps and other things, so I am going to try and make those poetic. This a huge burden lifted off of my shoulders.

10 poems it is

Yesterday we got test number four back. We also got our progress reports. I am very content with my grade. I thought about taking the final exam last night, but remembered that I had already written 4 poems for my high school classes. That leaves six more poems. I am going to have fun writing them.

missed to blogged

Yesterday was a full time class we get to covered some excercises and able to see our grades so far. I don't got service at my area yesterday for my internet that is why I did not blogged yesterday. I wish that the decision that I have to make for my final will help me passed this course.
Well in class, we read aloud and did some exercises. We talked about the final exam and how we have a choice to take it or do poems. I believe that's all we did, see you on moodle day!
Today for class, we discussed the Writing Process Worksheet completed by Linda Wong as well as going over a few exercises to help further our understanding of the lesson. We also got the opportunity to look at where we stand with our grades. I'm very glad I went to the extra credit because I know it helped me achieve the grade I currently have. We also found out that we have two options for our final exam which is to make 10 poems or to take the final exam. I better start studying!

Today at Class

We read some passages on the book and even did the exercises. We even saw our grades, and thanks goodness my grade is just fair. Luckily, I didn't fail. But anyway, I'll do the best I can for the final grade. We even went over the test and I don't think I deserve the grade I got. Though it is not close to an F, still I'd like to change that so I can go to higher English.

OHlloo

Today was a pretty chill day. Went over the test, read some passages, and answered some questions. Dr. Rivera showed us our grades and I am happily passing. Woo!!!! I tell the truth when I say that I was scared for the last test. When Dr. Rivera came up with the alternatives, a heat formed around her. Now it is time to rhyme.
Today we were able to find out what we were averaging for the class and I know that I could have done much better if I blogged on time and studied harder for the tests. We were also given back our Test #4 and I was satisfied with my grade. We discussed the options that we have whether to take the Final Exam which cover chapters 1-16 or to write 10 poems. I have yet to decide!

Thank You! Jesus!

First off, I want to say what I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving. I'm passing my classes so far! I thought I was going to fail, but I'm not, so thank you God! Secondly, in class we learned a few things and also the semester is almost over, so that means we better get a move on our work. Thirdly, in class we were told that there's the final exam, and it includes chapters 1 to 16, whew! I better get studying, take care everybody, I wish you all the best!

I am glad that I moodled right when I woke up on Wednesday because the thunder and lightning that day cut off the cable and the internet and I had no internet for three days. Although I was the first to moodle, I forgot to blog too. Next time I need to remember to blog right after. We discussed what a definition consists of and the different techniques for writing simple and extended definitions.

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Late

I just remembered that we had a moodle on Wednesday and I just did it today. Oops. Well at least I did it. The moodle was talking about definitions. It was pretty simple and done very quickly. Anyways, having moodle on Wednesday saved me a lot of time and I got to finish my paper. My analysis paper took for ever and I could not seem to finish it, but I did right before my class. Good day.

Moodle

Good thing we just have to meet on moodle. I am so happy because, I have a reason not to leave the house and go school because of the rain and thunder. On moodle, the new topic is about "Definition", and we have to state what it consists of. This topic is also one of the the topics I liked.
I hope everybody had a good day today! See you all next class. And I hope we did well on the test.

Synonym is a weird word

Today in our Moodle session, we talked about chapter 14. This chapter dealt with definitions. I never really took the time to define the word definition or look up the types of definitions until this day. The one I am most familiar with are synonyms. They make life so much easier. :)
Our online session was today, the same as every other Wednesday. The forum was about definitions and what it consists of, and also the techniques for writing the different types of definitions. There are two types of definitions that I've learned today, which are the simple definition and the extended definition.

Moodle Wednesday

This Wednesday was another moodle session, and I have to say that that is something I am thankful for. One reason, is because of the weather's rain, thunder and lightning. It was rainging hard, then sprinkling, and then pouring down with thunder scaring those around us as bursts of lightning lit up the cloudy sky. Thankfully, we didn't have to endure driving in this aweful weather since we did not need to drive to UOG for EN 100, but that may just be me. So, safe driving to everyone, and I hope we see some of those wonderfully sunny skies, and blue water, that is commonly assocciated with islands.

Monday was test day

On monday we took a test, and I hope that everyone did well on it. We were also given the first five minutes of class to make sure we knew the material, and I hope that that had helped everyone- it helped me. So, congratulations to everyone who studied for the test, and I hope everyone did awesome.
Today was alright. I kind of enjoyed the weather. Well, I only had one class today because my other class was cancelled and we met in the moodle room. Speaking of which, I just finished moodling. I enjoyed it a lot. So other than that I slept most of the day! See you next time. I can't wait to see our test. Good luck!
Although I had a very busy day I am glad that I had found the time to moodle and participate in the online sessions. Thank you Anthony Quitugua for reminding me. In the session we discussed how to write a definition. We also explored techniques in definition writing.
Today we discussed writing a defintion. We also learned different techniques for writing simple definitions. The different techniques include the basic dictionary meaning, synonyms, direct explanation, indirect explanation, and analytical or formal definition. I learn so much from these sessions its amazing.
Today we met on moodle which I was very happy with because the weather outside made me lazy to do anything. On moodle we had to discuss what definition was and the techniques that come with the short and extended writing. I hope the weather is nice on Monday so I won't be lazy or tired in class. See you all on Monday and have a good weekend.

Chillin'

Today is just crazy! I did not see a source of sunlight at all. I made sure, though, that it would not make me lazy. I did the moodle session, which was on "Chapter 14: Definition: Clarifying Terms". I realized how easy it is to take at least 30 minutes of my time to do this simple, but important assignment. See you ninjas on Monday.

Rainy day

I am glad we did not have class today and it was online. The weather was crazy! It was raining really hard as I was driving home. So we did our regular online class and today we had to discuss about definition: clarifying terms. That was about it. I will see you all at class on Monday!

SUNNY/RAINING

What a weather, we have our moodle class today and it was great to talk about definition. Chapter 14 in our text book is about definition and how and where to used it. Our final is coming up very fast and it makes me nervous I am praying that I can pass this class this semester.
Great today is moodle session day. Today's moodle session was very interesting one. It was on chapter 14 which was on definitions. We had to discuss what consists in a definition. We also had to give different types of techniques of definitions. Theres 2 types on is the simple definition and the other one is extended definition. The simple is the short one and the extended one is the longer definitions.
I need to start to bloging every class time because I tend to forget most of the time. Well for Monday's class we took our fourth test which was okay in a way. I know I could of studied more instead of procrastinating like I always do. After the test I foud that I had to return a hard copy of my self reflection midterm which was okay because I had it saved. Other then the test we took that day it was a very great day.

Test #4

The test #4 is quite fair but, I jonestly do not know the answers for fill on the blanks. When it comes to that, I always have the mental block. I wish I did good on this test. I really want to pass this class so I can go to higher English and start my prerequisite for my intended major. I hope, everybody did good on the test! See you guys on moodle session!

Monday, November 15, 2010

Today's class was amazing. I love surprises so today was totally my day. Hopefully my grade surprises me too. Although, I highly doubt it.

Test 4

Today we took test 4. I wish I studied harder, I didn't know what parts to study for, so I tried my best to study all three chapters. I doubt I got a good grade though. Hoping for a B at the most. My study habits have to change!

Test #4

Today we took our Test #4, the last test before our Final Exam! I hope I did good. I thought the test was okay, it was just the true and false that I was hesitant about. I know I kept telling myself that I was going to study my heart out for the tests but I kept procrastinating. I'm satisfied with my grades though. Time to concentrate and get ready for the Final Exam! See you all in the moodle room.
Today we took test #4. In my opinion, I think I did good. At first I was hesitant when studying because the material seemed to be harder for me to store in my head but I eventually was able to store it. Maria, Monica, Andrea, and I always seem to be the last ones in class and I think it's because we always look over our answers way too much. Also the last extra credit was hard for me because it was hard to come up with a sentence that began with a D but I eventually found something. See you all in the moodle room for next class!

You Testing Me?!

Today I took Test #4 with my wonderful classmates. I was informed of this test just this morning, so I studied from 11 o'clock to when I fell asleep in the library around 3. I feel pretty confident with my performance, but I wish I read the syllabus. Well, if i fail, I can't blame anyone but myself.

Tests

Today we took another test, and it was dealing with chapters 9, 10, 11. It was hard for me, because I didn't have time to study, because I had a take home test to finish for my intro to teaching class, and it's a major time consumer. I tried to study for the test but my mind was stuck on the test, so basically I couldn't keep my mind off the test, hopefully I did well. I also found out that I had to apply for my classes for next semester. Hopefully I can find my major before the next year so I can plan out my schedule. Take care everybody, and I wish you the best of luck for this class.

Test #4

Wow! Today was test number four and it was pretty intense for myself. I do not think I did well on this test. It seems as if I am going to have to go into vigorous studying. I have to receive a high grade on this next test and score high on our final exam. For those who are unaware, our last essay is a self-reflection. That is due on the last day of class, according to the calendar of events. Keep your heads up, especially if you are borderline of failing. Good luck everyone! It is almost the end of the semester. :)
So, today we took out test number 4. To be completely honest, I think I did alright. I know that there were some parts that I didn't understand. However, thank goodness for my extra credit! I think this is our second time being the last ones to take the test. Well, after we were done, we left class. See you in the moodle room!

Test #4

Well, we had our fourth test today. I think I did pretty alright. I hope I did. So I'm still at class right now, waiting for my friends to finish their test. They are taking forever, but its okay. They are done now, so I guess I am going to stop here. I'll see you all online next class session.

Test #4

Today, had to be one of the weirdest days so far for class. Class today was nice because I came prepared to take my test and get a good grade. As far as everything goes, it went from good to bad in just a few minutes. When I got my test results back I pretty much failed and when Mrs. Rivera told me that I didn't turn in my Self Reflection Essay it went from bad to worse.

Compare & Contrast

On Wednesday, we had another moodle session, and this one was about comparison and contrast. We were supposed to say what it is, and give an example. If you were to say a comparison now, you could say that all of these blogs are done by EN 100 students, and if you were to contrast, you could say that they are made by different people, and the subjects vary. That was basically what the moodle session was about.
Well Wednesday's class was a moodle session. I really enjoy having moodle sessions. We learned about comparison and contrast. We also had to discuss Thung Tran's essay. Which was well organized. But I know I would of done mine differently I enjoy freewriting.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

On Monday we were able to get our Test #2 and #3 back and I was satisfied with my grades. I know I could have done better though. I need to retain what we have learned in the previous chapters because some questions were from the chapters we already learned about. I'll do better next time.
I almost forgot to moodle but luckily my classmate Dolores Palomo reminded me. However, I was a tad bit late on sending it. I hope it doesn't affect my grade. Well, I believe today was a very productive day. I got most of my work done. So that's about it, tomorrow's Veteran's day! I have a four day weekend! Enjoy, and see you next time!

Moodle day.

Today we had to deal with comparison and contrast. It was easy because everyone knew about this during our elementary years and we dealt with this. I just realized that the semester is ending so we need too study and get ready for our test and our final exam. Hopefully everyone passes the course so we can advance to EN 110.

Pre-Veterans Day Wave!

The Veterans Day Wave across ITC was a lot of fun! All the high schools came together to thank and support our veterans. Today's moodle session was very easy and I comprehended it very well. Comparing and contrasting is what I do on a daily basis, so it was just a refresher for me. The writing process worksheet was very similar to the others. Overall, I understood the whole lesson.

moodle

Today there were two topic to discuss and I tried my best to do so. I almost forgot about moodle today because there were alot that went on on my daily schedule today, but I am still here in our moodle room. Well happy Veterans day to all the Vets that are out there and thank you very much for serving our country may God bless you all. Good luck everyone on our test coming up on monday and enjoy the long weekend.

Moodle

I almost forgot about Moodle session today. We talked about comparing and contrasting. I think I am not so good on these topics because I only have a limited knowledge when it comes to much broader subjects. I just hope we all pass on the test nextweek! I wish myself luck and others as well.. Ciao!
Today there were two topics. I learned about comparing and contrasting. This will help my writing in the near future. Im very glad I am taking this class. It is very helpful.
Today for class we met on moodle. We had to discuss what comparison and contrast was. I learned that comparison is for similarities and contrast is for differences. We also read Tran's writers process worksheet which I thought was very organized because by following the steps he easily displayed the differences between the lives of a woman in Vietnam and a woman in America. Good luck studying and see you on Monday!

Moodle Time

Today was a moodle day. We had to discuss the use of a compare and contrast essay. Luckily, I learned how to do a compare and contrast essay in my English AP class during high school. In my moodle session last week, I talked about a "Venn Diagram." Unfortunately, I used it during the wrong time. It was not meant for a Cause and Effect essay, but today's topic. An error of mine, but no matter. I like those essays as well. Its funny how the basic essays are moodle sessions. Just a reminder to everyone, test is next week so don't forget to study.

Moodle Session 11/10/2010

Today was our online class moodle session. We had to read about comparing and contrasting and discuss our thoughts on the writing process worksheet written by Thung Tran. I thought the readings were informative and helpful.

Moodle

Today was another one of our online class sessions. We had to talk about comparisons and contrast. Then we had to discuss our thoughts on Thung Tran's essay. That was about it for class. Well we have a test coming up on Monday! I need to go study now. I hope you all do well!

Due to no internet access i wasn't able to post on time, but I hope it does not count as an absent. For our class session yesterday we got our test number two and three passed back to us. We all read chapter 12 which talked about classifying things. We worked on exercises and talked about what will be in the next text. see you guys in the moddle sesh!

Late again

I am so sorry Dr. Rivera for not logging in last night or yesterday, I had a technical difficulty. I was calling my receptionist and they let me know that my area will always encounter technical difficulty because I live close to the airport. Any ways class was started yesterday with sharing our experiences for the conference. Then we did some exercises for chapter 12, and then we got to dismissed early so we can used the time to study for our next test.

11/08/10

So for class today, we were in our regular classroom. We started off class by sharing our experiences during the extra credit this past weekend. We also got our test #2 and test #3 back today. I did okay, but I could have done better. It's okay, I can make it up with the extra credit. We also have another test coming up. These tests keep coming up very fast! But hopefully I do well in this one too. We have a week to study for it. Anyway, for class we talked about classifying things into groups. We did a exercise about classifying things you would sell in a yard sale. After going over that, Dr. Rivera dismissed us. Well I got to go study now! Good Luck to you all!
Today was a very productive day! First of all, we got our tests back. I already knew my grade from the second test and I wasn't that satisfied with my test #3. It's okay, I'll make it up on the next test. Well, I know my extra credit will cover that so I'm not worried. Speaking of which, we talked about our experience through the conference. I think it was a success. I enjoyed myself and got to know my classmates more! Besides that, all we did in class was read and did exercises. See you in the moodle room!

Test? Again?...

Today we started class by sharing our experiences of the conference. Then we went over classification. We were given two exercises to do and like always, we share our answers. Then Dr. Rivera told us what to study for for our next test. Hopefully I get a good grade because I did not get a nice grade on Test #3. Luckily, I have extra credit to back it up so I can't mess up this test. There's a moodle Wednesday, then Monday is the test. Hopefully everyone's ready. Good luck!
Today for class we started off by sharing our experiences at the conference some of us attended over the weekend as well as received our tests 2 and 3. After the sharing of our experiences, we learned more about Chapter 12 which describes classification. I learned that things are sorted into persons, places, things, or ideas into groups or classes based on their characteristics. Also that to classify efficiently you should select a plural subject, decide on a principle for a grouping the units of your subject, establish the groups or classes, and write about the classes.

Classification

Today's lesson regarded Classification. Unlike Analysis by Division (chapter nine) you deal with a general topic, such as neighbors, friends, teachers, et cetera. It is similar to high school. The subject would be students. There are many personalities of students. You will have the sports enthusiast, the studious, the active, and the rebellious. It was a confusing lesson at first, but I understood it after the exercises. The exercises confused me at first then I got the hang of it.

Sick:'(

I am so sorry I was not able to go to class today. I was sick over the weekend and until now. I don't feel good because I missed the class. I just hope I could catch up, and hopefully this feeling would fade away. See you guys next class!

I just realized the semester is almsost over :/

Today, we learned about Chapter 12. I felt that I caught on to the subject pretty fast. I learned what overlapping was today. I had a lot of fun imagining a garage sale. I can see what I wrote very vividly in my mind. Tomorrow is the 9th, I can't wait to take my senior pictures! Any ideas as to what i should wear?

What a weekend!

As of last week, i had a blast! I was at a language arts conference and it was for credit for my english class. I was to basically help out to make the conference successful. what happens at this conference is that professors come from universities and some from off island to present their experience in their career, or what they do, or they give lessons to future professors or people who are already a professors. So that's what happened last week, and then today is Monday, and we were in chapter 12 today. We learned about classifcation, for example we had this topic on yard sales and what is sold there, so our assignment was to use plural words like tools, clothes, and appliances. So we had to make this list dealing with those words and what it deals witht he yard sale. Then finally we were reminded that test number 4 is coming fast, and that means more studying for me, good luck on studying for the test!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Well today was a very interesting day. Today in class we learned about classifications. Then we were able to do 2 exercises which were very helpful. As the semester is ending we have a lot of work and test to do but in the long run I know that it will be very useful to me. Next Monday is our test # 4 and I am going to study really hard for this one because I didn't like my score for the last 3 tests that we took.

EXTRA CREDIT

Today we received our tests. Fortunately I did well, but not excellent, and thanks to this awesome thing called extra credit, I can raise my grade, but that is not all we can do with the extra credit. We can devide it and put some points towards test #1, a few more to test #2 and/or 3, and the rest towards our exam. This shows how helpful the extra credit offered at the conference was, and I am really grateful that i was able to go part of the time since I was unable to be there throughout the entire conference. So, thank you Doctor Rivera, for allowing us this chance at extra credit.

Moodle Time

The moodle sessions I must say is less time consuming. It is just a matter of moodling on time. In today's moodle, we had to discuss cause and effect essays. My favorite part about writing cause and effect essays is the prewriting portion. As we may all know, to organize our thoughts, we use what is called the Venn Diagram. I am not sure why, but I like drawing when it comes to writing.

Moodle

I was blogging when the power went out last night. I was so freaked out and kind of irritated because I should not be doing this by now if only that thing didn't happen. I went to moodle and did the assignments. I find "Cause and Effects" as interesting topics. I remember my gradeschool days wherein my teacher did a certain game where she grouped the class into two groups. The first group would be the Cause, and the second group would be the effect. She made us think of different phrases. It was so funny because she'd point out to someone and reveal his/her phrase and would mismatch it to the other group who has a different Effect phrase. Example: Effect: My grandmother scolded me. Cause: Because, I jumped off the 10th floor of the building.
Ohh, memories! I just miss being a kid. Anyway, I am just sharing. See you guys next class. Ciao!

No Moodle

I couldn't do moodle lastnight because the Power Outage. I knew I should have did it in the morning. What made it worst is that my cable was out which meant no internet.

Power Outage

I didn't get to moodle last night because the power was turned off due to a transmission failure at the sub-plant near K Mart. I hope Dr. Rivera can excuse me. Anyway, we had to discuss two topics regarding causes and effects so it was fairly easy. I just wish the power didn't turn off because i couldn't do my homework and the house was super hot. Well we have a test next Monday if I'm not mistaken so make sure you guys study. Good luck!

Miss Moodle yesterday,

I was not on moodle in the morning because I worked in the morning then come to class in the afternoon so I was thinking about going online last night after my 8:30 class. We did not even finished yet but the power went out so we all went home around 7:30 last night and I am not sure what time did the power went back on last night.

Music and Moodle:)

As I did my Moodle assignment, I listened to music. I've known since I was in elementary, that I work better with it. Today we had two Moodle assignments. I found that both were fairly easy and completed in a short amount of time. I am very familiar with cause and effect. I remember having to go through it over and over again in middle school. This chapter was quite the breeze.

lazy

Today was just a lazy day for me. I fell asleep in my class, the library, the bathroom, and while I was driving. I am joking on the last one. I tried to do the moodle session, but again, I was falling asleep there too. I'll see you all on Friday. Till then. PEACE!
We had to meet online for our class today, which was mainly about causes and effects. There was a process that Richard Blaylock demonstrated that would help me, or other people, gather information about a particular topic. It was a good discussion for the class.

Moodle? Check!

This time I remembered to post on both moodle subjects today. So, I was able to give an example of a cause and effect, or "why" and "what now," and was also able to post my thoughts on Richard Blaylock's Writing Process Worksheet. I didn't see a third subject for today, and so, I think that I am in the clear.

Monday's Class

On Monday we took our test, and I hope that everyone did well on our Test #3. We were also reminded about the extra credit opportunity this Friday and Saturday. So cross your fingers for the test's outcome, and if you think that that is not enough, then do not be afraid to get some extra credit on Friday.

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Today we met on moodle were we had to discuss what cause and effects is. Cause and effects deals with reasons and results. It's either brought up as a whole or separated. We also had to discuss Richard Blaylock's essay which I thought was organized but could have been presented in more depth to interest me as a reader. Have a good weekend and see you all next class!
Well I just finished the moodle session and it was very interesting. It helped me to understand the cause and effect more.Richard Baylock's worksheet was very organize. I believe that it would help me in the long run. I love moodle sessions.
So today is moodle day! Thank goodness, I need to catch up on my sleep. Last night was a long night, and unfortunately it wasn't in my favor. I need some sunshine. It's been raining! Well, I just finished moodling. We had to talk about the causes and effects. It was pretty self explanatory. See you next time and enjoy your weekend! (:
My apologies. I forgot to blog on monday. However, it was a very interesting day. I spent most of my time studying before our class. Although it was only based on one chapter, I knew I had to get everything down. Well, in class, all we did was take the test and went over the extra credit for this weekend. I'm so excited for that. I think it's pretty funny how Andrea, Dolores, Maria, and I are one of those who use up the whole class time. We are usually the last ones to finish. As side from that, I hope I did good on the test. I hope everyone did!
I totally forgot to blog on monday. The test wasnt all that hard but I know I could of done better.  I really hope I pass this test. I think I could of done better if I showed up for the last class.

Test 3

I want to say at first that I thought this test was going to be the hardest but it wasn't. I'm surprised to see this test was easy, maybe because I studied really well on this one. Well anyways I feel really confident on this test, because all we did was read these stories and talk about the thesis, what kind of introduction was used, what was the main topic, and other things. Also i'm going to the language arts conference on Friday and Saturday and I hope I will do good there. See you there Dr. Rivera!

Monday, November 1, 2010

We took Test #3 and I did not know what to expect because it only covered chapter 8. Now I know to pay more attention when we do the exercises in class because it might just be on the next test. There were also other questions pertaining to the previous chapters and I did not retain what I learned so I have to work on that. Overall, I beleive I did okay on this test. See you all in the Moodle room!
For todays class we took our third test. I found the test okay but pretty hard during the fill in the blank. While taking my test Dr.Rivera explain that only one more person can go to the extra credit without paying for the ticket. She wrote our names down and picked one. Now i get to earn some extra credit!

Test 3

It felt really good to see the test after I had studied. I studied for a good two hours. I felt that I did pretty good on the test. I wish I studied more though. I look forward to seeing my test score.

Test #3

So I almost forgot to blog today, if it weren't for my dearest friend Dolores to remind me on Facebook. Thanks again! Anyway, for class we had our Test #3. I can honestly say it was pretty hard. However, I think I did okay. Well we have that extra credit thing coming up on Friday and Saturday. I'm kind of excited! I just hope that extra credit is worth it. That's it for now. I'll see whoever is going to the extra credit on Friday!
Today we took test #3. Personally it was quite hard for me. Although it was just a coverage of one chapter, I felt as if I didn't know what exactly to study. The test was fairly hard but as long as I tried my hardest, I'm hoping for the best. I almost forgot to blog like I did on the last test day but luckily I remembered. We're meeting on moodle for our next meeting but I'll still be seeing some portion of the class on Friday and Saturday for the extra credit. Have a good weekend!

Test Day

Today we had a test. Thankfully it was regarding one chapter. I found the test rather simple so hopefully I would receive a high grade. I was nervous about today, but I am glad I got through it. If I don't, then I would have to make it up at this week's extra credit opportunity. I am confident however that I will get a high grade. I got a "B" the last time and I studied for this test so hopefully I will do that well.

Telling is telling

On Wednesday's moodle session we were talked about the two different ways that you can tell someone to do something. You could do it directly like, "You need to blog for every class," or you can do indirectly like, "A blog should be posted for every EN 100 class," but either way, you are still informing someone on what/ how something should be done. So, there are two ways you can inform someone, and how you do it, will depict which type you are using.

Thursday, October 28, 2010

This time I Moodled early so that I would not have to worry about it later, but then I forgot to blog! We were asked to discuss the two types of process analysis and to explain our thoughts on Mott's essay. The two types of process analysis is simple to understand. Direct and informative process explains it in the name. I am not sure how to give examples, but I am sure we'll do more exercises on how to do it. Well we have Test #3 on Monday on chapter 8. Try not to procrastinate like how I do!

moodle

I did not blogged yesterday because I was having technical difficulty with my internet. The essay of Mott was a very organized and interesting essay. I am fear that the next test will be very difficult, and I am scared that I might not passed this class. I need more extra credit in order to fullfill the possibility to pass this course.

Whew!

Well to start off I'm getting used to having lots of homework which is good, because for this whole week I have been on homework like nobody's business. But right now I just turned in one research paper of three pages, one essay, and three assignments from my intro to teaching class. And at the same time I'm trying my best to not forget anything, because as I mentioned in my previous blogs, I can't remember everything all at once and I have to break sometimes just to catch my breath. But, as I was stressing out from all this homework I remembered something that always gives me relief even when things go wrong. It's a comment from my pastor at church and he said, "God will never give you anything you can't handle." And it true because all my homework was piling up and then when I simply just forgot the fact that it's hard and did it, and before I knew it, all my homework was all gone. And I was so relieved and that comment is so true, so to everybody who thinks everything is hard, just read my blog and do the work. Take kare and good luck on studying on the test.

2 things

Today we learned about two things which are; Informative process analysis and directive process analysis. Informative tells the reader what will happen in the future and the directive tells the reader what to do. It was very interesting and helpful because now I know when I am talking to someone I know what analysis I am using.
Today we moodled and wrote about two things. Directive process analysis and informative process analysis. We had to write about it and give examples. The other assignment was kind of shot because I couldn't really find it, unless it was just me.

Moodle

I almost forgot going moodle and luckily, I did'nt! I was shocked when I saw that there were two topics being posted at moodle. Unluckily, I only did the first topic because I can't find Moth's essay on my book. I'm awfully scared right now if that would affect my grades. The first topic talks about the Directive and Informative Essays. Directive uses the second person pronoun (is it?) "You" to directs us about something. While Informative, informs us how a certain phenomena happens.

Have a great weekend everyone! Goodluck for the test!

Moodle

Today I learned about two things. One was the two types of process analysis and the other is that Mott's essay isn't in the book. Hopefully I don't get points off for that post on Mott's essay because i couldn't find it. Well, that was class today. On Monday, we have a test on Chapter 8 so make sure you guys study. Good luck and please get back at us on Mott's essay not being in the 11th edition Dr. Rivera.

MOODLE x2

Today was just another one of those moodle days. But instead of just one assignment, we got two. At first it caught me off guard so i was thinking of just picking one. Then I thought to myself why not kill two birds with one stone. But when i was trying to get the second assignment done, I could not find the essay we were supposed to look over. I feel that Mott didn't want to talk to me. But if that's how Mott is going to be then so be it. We'll just take this to the big boss herself, Dr. Rivera.

Moodle

I was not having such a great day so moodle saved me the time and stress on some things. Although, I cannot seem to find that story we are suppose to write about in the new edition. Could someone help me out here? I did get the first one done, which was about the two types of process analysis. There is directive and informative. Directive being able to explain how something is done and gives a sense of direction to the reader and informative being able to explain what happened. It was easy now I'll just hope and wait for someone to help me find the page for the second assignment before it is due.
Moodle sessions are always great! It gives me a lot of time to catch up on some sleep. I had a really productive day. I finally found my costume for Halloween! I think people should get into the spirit of Halloween, it's a chance to be someone you're not. Well, I just finished doing my moodle. Luckily, I was reminded. Thanks Andrea! I hope you all have a good weekend everybody and see you next week!
Oh my, I was having a bit trouble on Monday when I was posting my blog entry for the day. It wouldn't go through. However, I thought it did. It wasn't until my classmates Dolores and Andrea told me that they couldn't see my post. So I apologize for my late work, again. I hope this doesn't affect my grade. Well, all we did was a couple of excercises and read, a lot. Then we blogged and commented on each other's own. That's all for now. See you later!
Todays Moodle session was effective but confusing. At first I was surprised that there were two assignments and as I proceeded onto the second one I found that the essay we were supposed to read was nowhere to be seen. Im glad I did my work today because I learned about the directive and informative process analysis.
Today we met on moodle but instead of replying to one assignment we had to reply to two. I found the first one to be easy but I couldn't find where Mott's essay was. I looked all over the book from chapters 1 to 12 thinking I wasn't looking carefully but still could not find it. I hope I don't get deducted points for not moodling about the essay. If anyone knows where it is in the new edition, can you please let me know. Good luck studying everyone, and have an amazing Halloween.

Moodle Room

Today we had our regular online class. But it was different, there were two assignments we had to do. It is the first time we had that. However, I could not find the essay for the second one, Mott's? I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me on it. Oh well, as I wait I am writing this blog. So we have a test coming up on Monday. I just wanted to say, good luck to you all!

Two for one special

It was quite different today. We had two Moodle topics rather than the average single topic one. I enjoyed my dose of self teaching. I also liked Mott's essay. I found it very organized and short. This chapter should go by smoothly the next time we discuss it.

Monday, October 25, 2010

For today's class meeting we got to see our test scores, and i was very disappointed in what I got. We talked about chapter 8 and i had to leave class early because my auntie was sick. I know this is a really short blog. See you guys in class next time.

Today we read a lot. We learned about the two uses of analysis by division. They include the restaurant review and the career review. I read the career review and i believe that reading aloud helps you to better understand the topic presented. Today was a good day in class...Rai Rios is here! :)

Today in Class

We read and discussed Chapter 9: Analysis by Division. And we went over Chapter 8 to review for the upcoming test on Monday. We have to read different passages, and go over the questions. My score on the last time's test is fair. I hope everybody did good, and we all have to study more for the next test. No more procastinating!

STUDY STUDY STUDY

After seeing my test number two grade, I really feel the need to study more. I can just about guarantee my participation in the two extra credit events. Today, instead of moving to chapter 9, we went back to study and familiarize chapter 8. I can't wait for the next test. I am determined to get a higher grade!
Our lesson today was on chapter 8, which had some interesting passages and stories. Writing with examples is what chapter 8 is about, reading stories and answering questions using examples from the passage. I thought the "Who's Cheap" passage was pretty interesting and funny. Also, we got to turn in our Midterm today, which was supposed to be due last Monday I think. I think it was okay if we turned it in today, hopefully.
Today in class, we were able to see what we got on our test but couldn't see it until Christian takes his test. I wasn't too pleased with my grade, knowing that I could have gotten a better grade if I just prepared more for the test instead of procrastinating. Besides receiving our grades, we learned the four steps in explaining how something works or exists as a unit. We also went over exercises that could ultimately help us to familiarize ourselves with the coverage of test #3. Today, I also turned super red because I pronounced a word wrong and couldn't continue reading the passage. See you all on moodle.

Let us all write.

Today's lesson was about "Division Analysis." Afterwards we reviewed for the test on chapter eight. These lessons are allowing me to appreciate the many writing styles. I have always appreciated them, but now I am getting a clearer insight of them. The classes are fun and I am becoming a better writer.

10/25/10

My day is alright. I felt so tired this morning. I was craving coffee to wake me up. But I didn't get my coffee. So I'm feeling a little bit sleepy right now. Anyway, I come to class and I find out that we have a mid term self reflection due! I didn't even know we had to do it. This really sucks. But thank you classmates for allowing us to turn it in before midnight tonight and points won't be taken off. So for class, we went over chapter 8 because we have a test on Monday. We went over a lot of the exercises because it will be on the test. So after doing that we went on our blog and started blogging. Well I have to go now and write my self reflection paper before midnight!

10-25-2010

Our Midterm Self-Reflection and the All About Me essay is due. We were given a long time to submit them, but luckily we have an awesome teacher that's very lenient with us. Today we went over exercises that are helpful to the next Test. We also saw our test grades and I was impressed with my grade. Hopefully I do good on the next test because i already know what to study for. Make sure you guys blog after your moodle and study for the next test Monday. Good luck!

Thank you Doctor Rivera!

Thank you to Doctor Rivera and all our classmates that agreed to allow all of us that did not turn in our midterm to turn it in by midnight without getting any points deducted. I honestly thought that the self reflection was the same thing as the "All about me," essay. Unfortunately they are not the same thing. So, thank you to all those concerned for allowing those of us who misunderstood to turn in our self reflection by midnight.

Exercises and more excercises

Continuing on chapter eight, we expanded on the stories listed here and we had a fun time reading it. Some stories dealt with dating and finding the right person. One was talking about a girl living in California and to talk about why to travel anywhere when you're in Southern California. And the last story we read was the most interesting one yet. It was about a variety of men who are cheap with their dates or in life period. And the woman are upset with men like that, but I know that I'm not like that. And then we heard that our test number three is coming up and hopefully I could pass because I need it. Good luck on the test everybody!

Monday....

Our Mid-Term Self Reflection Essay is due today, although I wasn't quite finish with it. Thankfully, we have until midnight to turn it in. Then, I find out that the revisions to the All About Me essay was not done right so I have until next Monday. During the discussion, we went over things that will be on Test #3 which is a big help and we also got to see our grades for Test #2. We reviewed chapter 9 which is Analysis by Division: Examining the Parts. That was basically class.

test #2

I forgot to blog last week and I am very surprised that I was studying the wrong materials, I was studying the Poem that Dr. Rivera gave us and also some different stuffs. I wish that the next test will be much easier. And I really like the class pictures.
Today we were able to find out the results of Test #2. Some of our classmates did not take the test yet so we were not able to go over the answers. I was not satisfied with my grade, so next time I promise I will do better. Even though I am being hypocritical, I will try not to procrastinate. We read different passages aloud in class and I think there was laughing gas in the air because I could not stop laughing at Dolores while she was reading. We also discussed Analysis by Division. See you all in the Moodle room!
I forgot to blog the last time I took the test so hopefully this makes up for it. The test for me was difficult. Like the first time I didn't study as much as I should have. I'm hoping that the following test we take will pick up my grade. I am also hoping that I will be able to attend the extra credit. Hopefully everything will turn out and I will finish the course with an alright grade.

db

Today we started reading Chapter 9, Analysis by Division: Examining the Parts. We read about its procedure, organization, sequnces of parts, and the two uses of analysis by division. We then started reviewing for our 3rd test. Dr. Rivera said it would be different from the first two tests. I will try and study harder.

GSD!!!!

Today I took my make up test. Thank the Lord above that Dr. Rivera is such an understanding teacher. She makes me want to do better in life. The test that I took was kinda challenging. I say that because I did not study at all. Regardless of the fact that I didn't study, I feel that I did satisfactory work. I do know that i can do much better. Right now Anthony is poking with his finger. It is making me laugh so much.

October 20, 2010

How come this did not appeared on the class blog last time? uh-oh. Something must be wrong. I just realized this by now when I kept looking for my last blog dated, Oct.20, 2010. We had our test # 2 and I think I am okay. In fact, I did not study that hard the other night because my eyes got tired. I just studied from my way to school while driving. I gave myself any hint to make me remember the important topics. And I am glad that I did not forget the things I've studied. I hope everyone did good on the test!
I forgot to blog for the first time. Last week Thursday, we took our test #2. Test #2 was quite hard for me. Although I studied for the test, it was as if I didn't fully study the right material. From this point on, I will stop procrastinating and study all the material needed for future tests. Honestly, the first test was easier than the second but it's expected because lessons usually tend to get harder as we progress. Once again we were the last to leave the class because we had to expand our answers to get the full credit. I will prepare for test #3 which we are taking on Monday next week.
Today was alright. Oh my goodness, I forgot to check my email last night so I didn't know that our self reflection is due today. It's a good thing that Dr. Rivera said we have until midnight to turn it in. That means I still have hope in getting an A. Well, we got to see our test #2 grade. I'm satisfied with my grade. Aside from that, we went over some excercises and read a little. We were just preparing for our next test, which is coming very soon. Good luck classmates! See you online! :)
Oops! I forgot to blog after Test #2! I'm used to being in the computer lab for every class meeting so that I can be able to blog right away. I thought that Test #2 was a little difficult. I thought I studied well, but I guess not. I was distracted every time I tried to study, especially in the library because people kept coming up to me. I will stop procrastinating and commit more time to studying for English class. I thought that since Test #1 was easy, Test #2 would be the same. I won't underestimate next time.

Test numbah 2

Test number two was hard, and even though I studied, I know that I didn't do very good as I planned. But at least I knew the vocabulary section and I knew that I got at least majority of the test finished. But at that test day, Dr. Rivera told us a way to boost our grade if we didn't do good on the two tests we did. She told us to help out with the language art meetings here at U.O.G. and one at a hotel. And I was relieved that day because I knew that I didn't do good on both tests, and at least I don't have to worry too much about failing, but I'm not going to rely on that extra credit, I'm going to do the work that was assigned to me. But yes, thank God for extra credit and thanks Dr. Rivera for giving us a chance to pass this class.

Huff! huff!

I've been trying to catch up with my assignments in the last two weeks and it's all caused by procrastination. And now I'm really feeling it now because as I mentioned before, I'm trying to keep up with everybody at the same time. So lately, I don't have time to myself anymore all because I didn't do my work. So right now I'm just working like crazy just to pass this class. I wish I've never done this but if I pass this class this semester, I promise not to do things last minute again.

testing....testing

We took our second test on Wednesday. I studied more than I did for the first test, but I didn't feel good about this one. I tried, though, and I will continue to try the rest of the semester. I'm sorry again Dr. Rivera. I will concentrate on your class more than I have been.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Test number 2

Yesterday we took our second test. I found it a little more difficult than the first. There were not as many extra credit questions. I was also confused and found a few questions asking the same thing. I hope I got a good grade.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Sorry guys i couldn't come to class today. I was sick during my first to classes earlier today and I went home to heal myself and get some rest. In the process, I had to take alot of water and take medicine every four hours. It was very irritating.

Test

Well today we took our test # 2. To be really honest I didn't study at all. Though I didnt study i think i did pretty good. I guess that i'm so used to being a procrastinator that I thought that this one would be the same thing for me. I really hope I passed though
Today was a good day! I got my check. Yes, more money! Aside from that, we took our test number 2 and I think I did pretty good. I actually studied hard for this one. I guess you can say, reality hit me. I don't want to procastinate anymore. It's time to get some work done. Well, to be completely honest, I was a bit nervous but I got over it once I saw the questions to the test. It felt like something was clicking! It was a good feeling. Well, after the test we could leave class. Dolores, Andrea, Maria, and I were the last ones to get out. So we double checked our work. I hope you did well too! See you on Monday!

Monday, October 18, 2010

Today for my english class, we talked about exemplification. It tells us how to find a topic and how to write about it. We also took a class picture in the stairs outside the class room in the english building. We also read a paragraph that explains the negative things about dropping out of school to work. We did a few excercises for writting and thats it.

En100

Today in our english class, we learned about Exemplification and it is very interesting. We really learned alot and it's basically just letting us know how to find a topic looking at a picture. We also read a paragraph written by David Levine and he was explaining about a girls life when she dropped out of school. She had so hard when she dropped out and she does everything on her own now. It is very hard now a days trying to find a job without a diploma or a college degree. I know so many people who have dropped out from high school and think that it's so funny and not hard. But then I know so many other people who have dropped out of school and they are having it hard. They would like to go back but they are too embarassed to go back to school and they can't pass their G.E.D. Well see you guys next meeting!

Today in Class

We discussed about Chapter 8: Exemplification: Writing with Examples. This topic is quite interesting because we only have to state diffrent examples of the given topic. There is not much to memorize on. And we red about "Dropping Way Out" and did the exercies 1 and 3. Luckily, I don't have to drop out of school during my highschool years eventhough I am a working. There were times that I feel like I don't want to go school but, dropping out is not an excuse to do so. Goodluck to all of us for the 2nd test this wednesday!:)
Today we took our class picture, but others missed it because they were late. We discussed Chapter 8, Exemplification: Writing with Examples. It consists of using examples to explain, convince, or amuse. The characteristics of good examples are specific, vivid, and conservaive. Lastly, listing and clustering are techniques for finding examples. We did an exercise about finding patterns in photo and discussing the paragraph "Dropping Way out". Time to prepare for our Test #2!

october 18

Today was such a hot day. Well today we started of by taking our class photo. Then we came into class and started our reading. After our reading we had to do exercise 1 and then we did exercise 3. Now were blogging and commenting on each others blogs.
We went over an exercise about a girl dropping out of high school and how it really affected her life. No one should ever drop out of high school no matter how much they dislike going. Even if some graduate late, it's better than never graduating at all. During some parts of our class today, I was making my study guide for our test that's on Wednesday. Hopefully I do better than last test, even though it wasn't that bad.

Sick Day.. ):

So today I wasn't feeling to well. However, I was worst yesterday. I woke up in the middle of the night with a really bad sore throat and a slight fever. I hate that feeling. I got up and I felt so cold and weak. I went to the kitchen to take medcine. I don't even know how or why I'm sick. Anyway, I'm kind of getting better now. But it's not a 100%. I really didn't want to go to school today though. If I didn't have a test for my last class I wouldn't have. I wanted to go home after that class because I still have a really bad headache and I just want to lay down right now. But my dad didn't want to take me home after that class! So I decided to just come to our class. It's a good thing we didn't really do much. I can't really think right now with a headache and all. But yeah for class, we finally took our class picture then we just went over chapter 8 and did the exercises. Then Dr.Rivera reminded us about our test on Wednesday which is on chapters 5-7. After that we just did our blog and that was about it for today. Study for the test guys! I hope we all do good!!

"School is cool"

Does anyone remember hearing that when they were in middle school? Well, apparently it is true considering what we just read in class. This is because we read how a high school drop out got her dreams crushed when she was refused from her dream job, was forced to wake up earlier, do the worst jobs possible at a gas station, have a lot of her hard earned money go to a taxi instead of her own possible car, and just not having the awesome experience that she thought she would have. Luckily, for us, we are in college, and will hopefully get the job we want, but Beth did not get what she wanted. She wanted independence in terms of doing whatever whenever she wanted to do it with no one to answer to, but she found out different. Independence is about being responsible, and ready to work for what we want, and includes answering to our boss. So, stay in school, work hard, and be thankful for your weekends.

Class picture

Today we took our class picture. I wish we all could've been in it. Maybe next week we can take another class pic. The lesson today was pretty easy. I really enjoyed deciphering that very action packed picture. I can't wait for the test on Wednesday. I hope there are just as much if not more extra credit questions:)

October 18, 2010

I forgot to moodle Wednesday. I was too cheered up because I didn't have class and I keep forgetting that moodle days are just as important as regular class days. I was late to class today too. And I missed the picture taking but I wasn't the only one. Luckily there's a next time for the class picture. We just went over Chapter 8 and did two exercises. We talked about dropping out of high school and other things. We also discussed our next test which is this Wednesday. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully, everyone does good on the test.

Oct 18, 2010

Today in class we learned the patterns of exemplification. Exemplification is using examples to explain, convince, or amuse. Basically, exemplification is writing with examples. After that we did exercises in our book and answered them as a class.

LOL Smiley Face

Today was picture day. I felt so undressed standing next to all you beautiful people. After the picture was taken, the real lesson started. We read "Exemplification: Writing with Examples". It was basically teaching us to write with examples to explain what story is about. It was pretty basic, so it went by fast. Dr. Rivera also reminded us about the Moodle Sessions. I believe i missed about 2 or 3. I promise to you, Dr. Rivera, I will do them from now on because I love your class and you are AWESOME! Yes, I am shouting over the internet because it is true.
Today, we took our class picture but we weren't complete. We also learned something new which is exemplification. Exemplification is using examples to explain, convince, or amuse. We learned how to narrow our examples down by being specific, vivid, and conservative. Also you can use the techniques we already know such as listing and clustering to find more examples. We read an example in the book which centered on how important staying in school is. Without an education and a diploma the opportunities you thought we available for you might not be available in the end. We have a test next class period so good luck and study well classmates.

Examplification

Today I felt like tired and wanted to sleep, but that did not stop me from learning. Today we learned about examples in a story. These examples were used to suppport the main topic of a story. Also the one thing that got to me the most today was reading this story in our book today. It was about dropping out of high school and getting a job, and it's not good, because you are not educated to apply for any job. So it's a good thing I graduated, and I got my diploma. And also we talked about test number two coming up this wednesday, and I hope I pass this one because I need it.

Exemplification

Today's class was all about writing an essay with examples, commonly known as exemplification. This is a very useful tool. As far as I am concern, most jobs require you to write materials using specified examples. When a doctor is writing a dissertation, they must have examples for the reader to better understand the storyline. When attorneys write letters to explain a situation they quote past court cases. I enjoyed today's session.

I GOTTA STEP IT UP

I have missed class quite a bit. I have not made it due to some issues that i can not bring up here on blog. I am now doing my best to not miss class anymore and do what i have to do to get my act together. I enjoy this class and I am actually learning. I love you Dr. Rivera!
Today we had a class photo and I am glad i was here on time. Because it would have been horrible if i didn't get into the picture. I mean, if i wasn't there, then there shouldn't be a picture at all. But i made it so everything turned out great. Thank you Dom Uson for informing me about this class picture. You are a life saver and a awesome pokemon gym leader. I look forward to challenging you soon. So get my badge ready because I'm going to be stepping it up. Elite Four here I come!!!
Today was interesting. We took our class picture today! I wasnt ready for it, but its okay. Well, we went over two exercises. The first one was kind of mind boggling. The picture was so cluttered. I dont know, for some odd reason I feel really tired that usually. I feel like falling asleep right now. It sucks having a class so late in the day. Unfortunately, the next time we meet will me in our classroom. So, no moodle day! Instead, we have a test! I need to study, see you soon.
Today we learned about exemplification. Exemplification means using examples to explain, convince, or amuse. Examples help inform or convince your reader. We also learned techniques for finding examples. These techniques include listing and clustering.

Photoshoot!

Well today happened to be a good day for our class. In the begining of class, we took a picture of the EN 100 class on the Staircase of the English and comminications building. In my own opinion, I thought it was schorching hot due to the wheather and wearing two shirts. I thought the picture was great considering two of our classmates wasn't able to make the picture. Sorry Dae and Tony! Then in class, we did two exercises that dealt with the chapter of exemplification. The whole class time I had a headache and just tried to do something to make the pain go away.
I feel like such a bad student. I forgot to moodle that wednesday. There was a lot of things going on at the time and it totally slipped my mind. I feel so sad, I hope it doesnt bring bring down my grade! Next time, I promise that I won't forget. (:

Moodle

We had to discuss Shastri's essay and it was about how tradition and customs are very important to her parents. Even though she lived in America, her home was not far away. I believe that she should be able to make her own decisions so that she can be happy. Her essay was very detailed and you were able to understand the mother's feelings because it is implied.

Wednesday's Moodle

This Wednesday's moodle session required us to talk about Shastri's essay, and how her mother cried. I know that I do not want to see my mother cry, and Shastri definitely did not like to see her mother crying. The average person would rather see the people they love happy and smiling, and not crying sadly. So, hold onto the happy memories.

Me, Myself, and I

Our essays entitled, "All about me," was given to us on Monday, and it made me think that that essay is probably one of the only times that we can go on and on about ourselves. This is because, if we just started having a conversation just about ourselves, then the person or people we are talking to would think we are being conceited- majority of us would think the same thing in their shoes. So, that was our chance to be self-centered without sounding conceited.

Silly Me ;)

So i totally forgot to blog again for our last class. I was such in a rush that day that I did my moodle room late at night on Wednesday. Therefore, forgetting about our blog. I just remembered now that I went back online today. For online class we just had to reflect about Shastri's paper and that was about it.

Moodle

Today we had a Moodle session. I stayed home after school and took a nice long nap:) I enjoyed the short paragraph that we had to read. I wish I could relate to how she felt because I'd like to give her some advice. Tradition and Modern society don't go well together. I still tend to lean towards some traditional ways, but I'm adapting to a more modern individual. This small paragraph made me think so much about my culture and family. It was very heartfelt and short, so I liked it.
